AI data centers will use up enough clean water for 1.3 billion people by the year 2030 according to a United Nations report.
We CAN live without data centers, we CAN'T live without clean water.
@MarvelComicsHQ decided to not send me anymore issues of "Storm" after their "Age of Revelation" event ended even though I'm subscribed. Now they abruptly canceled it. They screwed me over then screwed the artists and everyone else over. "Storm is one of their best books.
You can't solve problems you refuse to measure.
Yet this month, 900 ocean monitoring instruments are being physically pulled out of the water. A $368 million system. A decade to build. Designed to run 15 more years.
Gone.
This network tracked hurricane intensity, coastal flooding, marine heatwaves, and sea level rise. The data was free, public and used in over 500 scientific publications. Congress tried to stop it... twice. They got overruled anyway.
For a coastal community like FL-13 that just lived through Helene, this isn't abstract. This is the difference between an evacuation order that comes in time and one that doesn't.
Florida deserves a representative who fights for the science that protects us, not one who looks the other way while it gets dismantled.

🚨BREAKING: The Secretary of Homeland Security just admitted, on camera, that he is going to violate your First Amendment right to free speech.
He said, “I have ZERO tolerance. If you verbally assault our officers… we will find you, we will arrest you.”
Except… that’s not how the First Amendment works.
Unless someone is making a credible threat of violence, speech… even rude, angry, or insulting speech… is still protected.
That’s the whole point of a free speech clause… to protect the people from situations where those in power don’t like what’s being said.
So, when a top federal official starts framing “verbal assault” as something you can be arrested for, without clearly defining it as an actual threat…
It stops sounding like protecting officers, and starts sounding like a government trying to silence people who speak out against it.
Imagine any other President reporting they made 220 million dollars off a war they started, while normal Americans can't afford gas, get jobs or eat. The level of blatant corruption is just staggering.
oh my goodness -- Ted Lieu played Rubio a video of Trump sleeping while Rubio tried to talk to him during a cabinet meeting. Then this exchange happened:
RUBIO: I've never seen him fall asleep
LIEU: I'm gonna show you a video that shows you just lied to Congress
*plays another video of Trump sleeping by Rubio*
He wanted to look tough. He posted a painting of himself surrounded by oiled-up shirtless men in tiny shorts waving pompoms. Safe to say this did not land quite the way he intended.
@e3z9b_qI1ytkw The Mara Lago raid proved that he stole classified docs. His "assassination attempts" were staged. I don't trust the media but that doesn't make everything you hear about Don a lie. Maybe the reason that there are no positive stories about him is because there are none to tell.
@elonmusk So in your mind saving society means being racist. At least that's what you want people to believe. Your job is to create division in society for the elites. They know that united we stand & divided we fall isn't just a saying. It's the truth. You are a tool to grow division.
#OnThisDay in 1904: Birmingham Gazette and Express: Birmingham, England: Bovril used George Hackenschmidt’s Royal Albert Hall win over Tom Jenkins to sell itself as fuel for champions.
Bovril is a salty beef extract drink/spread.
Fun fact: Jeff Bezos has been paying a $1,000 monthly fine for years because the hedge around his Beverly Hills estate is taller than city regulations allow.
He’s worth over $200 billion. He generates roughly $300 every second.
The fine is $12,000 a year. He makes that in 40 seconds.
So the hedge stays.
Because for some people, the law isn’t a rule. It’s just a bill they can afford.
