🚨 Named by FIFA to officiate during the World Cup, the Somali referee Omar Artan was denied entry to U.S. territory. 🇸🇴
Due to his difficulties in obtaining a visa, he had benefited from the support of the Somali embassy in Nairobi, which enabled him to obtain a diplomatic passport. 🛂
It was insufficient for the American authorities, who immediately sent him back. ❌

How many of the current intake of Labour MPs actually “know” Andy Burnham, other than through his Manchester PR? How many have first hand knowledge of his performance as a cabinet minister? The vacuous nature of some of his answers in this interview should give pause for thought.
🚨Four out of the six arrested #FarageRiot-ers only turn out to be Reform UK councillors. Great work by @YoungBobRB aiding the police with some great footage!!!

On each occasion that I have met Keir going back to being a candidate in 2019 he has been warm, polite, smiled a lot, listened to me and at times been witty. He has a big serious job and I therefore wouldn’t have necessarily expected this to be the case on every encounter but that has been the position and I do not think it’s fair to attack his personality like this as it’s not my experience as a new MP. He recently stayed at a hotel in my constituency and the staff were so excited he sat up with them for a while and chatted despite the fact he was exhausted having flown in from overseas and getting up very early for government business. A little more balance please. 🙏🏽
Iraqi footballer Aymen Hussein issued a statement after being detained and questioned for seven hours upon entering the United States:
“If America is so hostile towards foreign nationals, why is it hosting the #2026WorldCup?”
Keir Starmer is the best PM since Gordon Brown. So much better than the parade of useless Tory PMs we have had since then. @AndyBurnhamGM@wesstreeting do not turn Labour into the Tories with treachery towards a Decent man. Stop this leadership Nonsense! #StickWithStarmer
2 years in after inheriting a mess, just starting to turn the corner… I’ll tell you what we need! A leadership contest.
The state of this country is down to politicians who refuse to allow stability at the top.

FIFA make last-gasp change to World Cup stadium rules: BANNING fans from bringing refillable plastic bottles, so fans must buy water in stadia
As of May, empty bottles permitted so fans could refill amid heat concerns. Not now

“His response has been to appeal for rage. That’s his response to a father who has lost his son and asked for that not to happen. Exploiting this tragedy to create grievance and division would be wrong in any circumstances but to do it when the family are expressly saying please don’t is unforgivable. It shows exactly who he is”
Keir Starmer responds to Nigel Farage at #PMQs
I seem to remember the BBC telling me back in the day, when the polls were good for Labour, that their guidelines prevented “reporting of single polls as news items in their own right.”
Seems to have changed if a single poll is good news for Reform! And to think that the consequence of all their favours and flattery will be to help elect a party committed to destroying them. Weird
@sebastian1906 Hi. I was in the front row behind the goal just above the whyteleaf George cross and red n blue palace flags. That’s me in the mateta shirt with my back turned. If you have any pictures of me watching I’d be interested to see them. Thanks
@TomBaldwin66@joshi@ManchesterMill V interesting. But I’m not sure he’s “brilliantly” instinctive - as his many corrections and caveats on his initial announcements last week (EU, Fiscal Rules, Trans rights etx) show. Instinctive? yes. Brilliant? Occasionally. Too quick with big words? Often
