It's their horse, and they choose what it is done with it. If they specifically didn't like seeing porn about their horse, you cannot just tell them to ignore it.

Saying this as someone who likes yuri.

The problem is not yuri artworks.

The internet is huge; of course there will be those, just like there will be other darker things like gore.

The problem is the shippers.

Look at Love Live, Umamusume, My Hero Academia, or HoYoverse/miHoYo, for example.

The problem starts when the person in question treats shipping as if it were a moral vindication or a correction of the canon.

What begins as “it’s just an interpretation” ends in accusations and an unbearable atmosphere where you can’t talk about the original material without someone reading it as a personal attack on the fantasy they’ve invented in their head.

In a game like Azur Lane it’s even worse, because the game is as shameless as it gets about the fact that the shipgirls love their Commander and only have eyes for him.

Every work has its own internal logic and its own contract with the player/reader/viewer. Ignoring that and then complaining that the community “doesn’t accept” your reading usually produces exactly the stupid discussions that go nowhere.

It’s something very simple, and yet an impossible task for many.
