This is a useful example of how outbreak investigations evolve.

For now, the key questions are how the cases are linked and whether transmission continues.

What about vaccination?

Two doses of varicella vaccine are ~90% effective at preventing chickenpox.

The students' vaccination status hasn't been reported, so we can't draw conclusions about vaccine coverage.

Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway.

To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back.

Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.

Good news: the extraordinarily unethical RFK Jr.-backed hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau will not proceed.

Withholding the birth dose from newborns would have put them at risk of preventable infection and lifelong consequences - including liver cancer.

I voted for Talarico today!
And I am hoping he wins...but...

...I was excited after voting for Hillary, Kamala, and Beto...
...so at this point I'm really just waiting to see how the GOP further suppresses and/or intimidates voters or fucks with the results.

Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas.

He wants our land, he wants our water, and he wants his own personal U.S. senator. He’s trying to buy Texas.

But on November 3rd, we’ll deliver a clear message to the world’s first trillionaire: Texas is not for sale.

The new chair of the US vaccine advisory committee has questioned whether children still need the polio vaccine

Polio is still circulating in parts of the world, and the only reason American kids don't get it is the vaccine.

That's not a reason to stop. It's proof it works.

In line to vote for Talarico!

'...if H5N1 mutates and gains the ability to spread person-to-person, it could trigger the next global pandemic – and each new infection gives the virus more opportunities to replicate and change'.

Important to note here: this is the first *reported* case in the US this year.

Nowhere is safe here.
