I got stranded one weekend and needed to make an urgent transfer, but Zenith Bank decided to misbehave. I called my girlfriend and asked if she could lend me the money, promising to send it back the moment my transaction went through.
She said, “I don’t think I can.”
I asked why, thinking maybe she had a genuine reason. She replied, “You know I don’t like taking money out of my savings.”
I asked again just to be sure I heard her correctly. She repeated the exact same thing.
I simply said, “Okay,” and ended the call. A few days later, I ended the relationship too.
It wasn’t even about the money. It was realizing I couldn’t count on the person I was planning a future with when I genuinely needed help.
My neighbor growing up was a full devoted hijab Muslim woman who was married with 5 children.
She was coming home late from work one night and was r@ped by the bike man transporting her. He and another bike guy who were also Muslims took turns on her.
The worst part of this story is that she got pregnant from this incident and had the baby. According to the husband, their religion did not permit an abortion. Dress decent yes, but the way you dress will not save you from indisciplined animals.
Then why are you staying mans house without paying rent or paying cleaners?
Why are you eating from the food supplies he bought?
You keep shouting unapid labour, is the child not yours too? How much are you paying yourself for those unpaid labour?
Or na only the man suppose pay?
When we say women are doing unpaid labour and unappreciated labour, people like you will call us mad women.
In many homes, women cook, clean, take care of the children, drive the children to school, do market runs, help the children with their homework etc.
All of these things are actual jobs worked by actual people.
Now imagine you had to pay for all of these things. You would be paying a chef, a housekeeper, a driver and a private tutor. You would be paying FOUR different professionals heavily for something that you claim is nothing and costs nothing.
Women work hard. Women have always worked hard. The issue is that this labour goes unpaid and unappreciated.
And women like you are one of the reasons why it is so.
I’ve seen the MRI video making rounds from Blessing CEO and I need to say this clearly…
An MRI is not a content studio.
You don’t go in there with phones.
You don’t go in there with metals.
MRI machines use powerful magnets. Phones can get damaged instantly, metals can be pulled, and beyond that, it compromises safety and the integrity of the scan itself.
So when videos like this surface, it raises questions: Was it before or after the actual scan?
Or was basic safety ignored?
Because anywhere in the world; including Nigeria; standard practice is simple: No phones, No metals
Strict screening before you enter
Let’s be careful what we normalize online.
Not everything should be turned into content, especially not medical procedures.
A truth at a time.
I HAVE BEEN A BAKER FOR OVER 15 YEARS😭😭
This broke me honestly
My name is Evangelist CJ Favour,
I am a baker, and I challenge the said bakery to bake their bread under the NAFDAC supervision and let’s see how long that one will last.
Any bread that stays longer than 2weeks is poison: That chemical that is used in preserving it is deadly and harmful to the human body.
We can’t keep silent and allow this evil to thrive. If we step back and allow this innocent woman go to jail, it’s really a pity for us all… because she said the truth.
This woman literally was saving lives by just that post. When I first saw the video I knew she was making a point but I didn’t bother to say anything, not until when I saw the oppression from the said bakery.
If you are sure, COME OUT AND PUBLICLY show us the ingredients. Show us the chemical.
I repeat, Any chemical that keeps bread fresh for more than 2 weeks is deadly, harmful and poisonous to the human body.
We can’t see the truth and keep quiet because of fear for the rich. We rather die than keep quiet and allow evil thrive.
I speak as a baker who has baked bread for about 16years
Instead of coming out to clear the air, you went on to file a lawsuit. This is wickedness!
@GbengaWemimo There's no truth here sir.
In our current reality, marriage also falls into the said grey area, as its expected outcome now changes anytime.
Dating is a prerequisite for Marriage.
If you can't be diligent with little (dating), then you won't be with plenty (marriage).
If he or she is not married to you, it is not cheating.
We use the term cheating so loosely nowadays and it has to stop.
When you hire an Uber; it is a car
It takes wherever you want to go.
If you become best friends with the Uber Driver and worked out a deal in which he would drive you exclusively around everyday
You cannot call him a cheat if he carried another passenger with the car on the day you are not in use of the car.
It is not your car
The UBER driver is the owner of the car and he can carry any passenger he desires to carry with it.
You are also a client and you can book another UBER anytime you want.
If you are married
You are the owner of the car and the driver is also yours
You have a right to claim you were cheated on if your husband or wife with whom you signed an exclusive contract picks another passenger with the car.
You have a right of ownership
Your partner has the same right.
When you are dating someone, the person is not your exclusive property
You are speculating and investigating and so is the person
He or she can move on at anytime or for any reason
That is the risk involved
There are no guarantees and there is no security
Crying victim is not fair regardless of what you lost in the course of the transaction
The man did not cheat.
Every action he took was taken within his legal right as a free agent
If it was the lady that met another man and moved on, it will be within her right too
Setting up a ring light because someone broke up with you is the very reason why the person should not marry you in the first place
If the man was a nobody, will she set up a ring light?
She is hoping to sabotage his business and his brand because he has made a name for himself
To her this is the right way to seek revenge
If she was the one who left him, he wouldn’t set up a ring light because she is a nobody in the public space
Gaining popularity as a victim by exploiting the name and brand of your ex is nothing short of witchcraft.
To many black people, the classroom is about memorizing just enough to get by while telling jokes the rest of the time. If the dancing girl gets As and Bs, her parents will reward her for being a “good student” when she actually isn’t. That’s the issue.
School is (supposed to be) predicated on a thirst and curiosity for knowledge. The disposition among black folks to view knowledge as an instrumental tool to get a good-paying job only, while never taking knowledge acquisition seriously outside of school testing hours is one of the reasons black folks are underrepresented in serious STEM and analytic philosophy. This needs to change.

Another funny thing about results like this is that, when people see this, due to limited or incomplete information, they think that only the person with such result has a problem.
NOT TOTALLY TRUE!
YOU CAN SUFFER FROM ANOTHER PERSON’S ANTIBIOTIC ABUSE.
If person A abuse antibiotics, which is one of the ways to get a resistant strain. If person B has never even taken antibiotics before and somehow he contracts the resistant strain from person A. He is now infected with a resistant strain.
He will suffer the same thing that person A suffers. Even though he didn’t abuse antibiotics or anything.
In the clinical settings we take antibiotic resistance as permanent. Microbiologists can argue otherwise, saying bacteria can lose their resistance over time (which is true). Clinicians do not use that metric, we don’t have the time.
So that means, when healthcare professionals are saying “Stop abusing antibiotics,” please STOP, and ensure people around you stop also.
NB: I didn’t even talk about horizontal gene transfer, and several other ways and jargons that further complicate antibiotic misuse
