Iโve been posting more FPL lately so I figured I might as well make it official.
From now on, like every other FPL manager out there, Iโll be sharing how I play the game. The calls I get right, the ones I completely butcher (inevitable in FPL although hopefully not too many) and all the thinking in between.
So hellooo FPL managers ๐
One more thing. Iโm not here to follow the template every week. I like making my own calls, taking a few risks and seeing where they land.
Welcome to Patriceโs Fantasy. See you around.
GW7 team ๐
Rolling my FT this week for when I really need it, especially since the plan this season is to avoid taking hits.
Most of the squad looks well in place but I'm keeping an eye on Wissa. He's disappointed a lot so far but I'm hoping he finally gives me something this weekend.
For some reason I've got a feeling he might be my KDH this week.
And as you'd expect Haaland is ยฉ๏ธ
Managed 66 points in GW6.
The highlight was KDHs โฝ๏ธ & ๐ ฐ๏ธ after a few disappointing GWs without a return. Sticking with him and hoping he can keep saving my weeks when I need him to.
He also gives me some cover for not owning other Everton assets like Tarkowski
My GW5 performance is quite appetizing given the overall player performance but what's even more appetizing is that we get a good almost three-week breather before the next GW. Stepping off for now (just matters FPL).
It's FPL time so let's get into it. My GW3 team finished on 49 points. I still don't quite know what to make of that.
I haven't made any transfers this week. The strategy I have in mind for the coming GWs requires me to build up a few FTs so I'm holding for now.
The captain has changed though. Given Chelsea's favourable fixture the armband is on JP. Haaland is still Haaland even with the United fixture but I woke up this morning with no appetite for taking any risks.
Up until now Iโve only ever been a Chelsea fan and that will never change. This is just a thing for most football fans. You support one club throughout your life. There are exceptions of course like former players who naturally grow attached to several teams theyโve played for. Iโm about to become one of those exceptions.
Lately Iโve found myself drawn to Como. My first encounter with the name came through pictures of the beautiful Lake Como plastered all over socials. But it turns out their football side is even more captivating. Itโs the smooth Fร bregas ball and the Como vision. Theyโre trying to build a premium brand like Disney with football at the center of it all obviously. Iโm completely bought into the vision. So you can now call me a Chelsea Como fan.
And now I'm all set for GW3. It goes without saying that Haaland keeps the armband. I can't see why he doesn't get a return against Coventry.
The rest of the team stays the same with just one change in attack. Wissa comes in for Osula. Had to sell Osula because of his injury.
Just a little FPL update. This is how GW2 turned out for me. Not a great result by any standard but the focus now is on GW3 which is coming up fast and furious.
So Enzo is on his way to City. There's no denying that he was some talent but I think that fee's tantalizing. Overall Chelsea have done great business this window.
Iceland has been making headlines over the past few days, but one detail sent me down a small rabbit hole. This wealthy island nation has just about 400,000 people.
But thatโs beside the point. The key talking point is that voters narrowly rejected restarting talks on joining the EU. Iceland has been debating membership for years. It applied in 2009, only for a different government to put negotiations on hold in 2013.
One of the biggest sticking points is fishing. For a country where the industry matters so much, control over its rich fishing grounds is no small bargaining chip. Many Icelanders worry that being under Brussels would mean surrendering too much say over how those resources are managed.
The weekend is almost here, so let's get this little FPL matter out of the way.
I'm set for GW2 and, as I pointed out earlier, I'm resisting the temptation to tinker with my squad. I'm rolling my free transfer into GW3, and Haaland keeps the armband.
There is one enforced change, though. Osula is injured so Ampadu gets to start.
It really is that simple.
GW1 done. 61 points. I'd call that a decent start, although it would have been even better had my captain returned.
I'm pretty confident in the current squad, so I might just roll the transfer into GW2, unless, of course, there are injury concerns or other major developments.
"So Mr Carrick great to see you again, new season and we understand you were the travelling side but United fans still expected a positive result given the opposition, what do you think went wrong with your game plan this afternoon"
