51 years ago today, on July 5, 1975, Arthur Ashe became the first Black man to win a #Wimbledon singles title.
I won the Wimbledon women's singles title the same year, and we shared a dance together at the ball.

Sadly it appears neither VP candidate has read the detail in the Wharton analysis of economy under both sides! Walz missed a big opportunity at this point. #VPDebate2024#vpdebate
What does what we’re seeing in the streets of major western cities and western universities concerning the Middle East situation tell us in a historical and civilisational context? #RIHLive
@MayneReport Moi moi Stephen !!
Kiitos paljon kaikkista OFX:n kysymyksistä. Kiitoksia tuestaan! Olen 63 — sä tiedät !! Omistan Macquarie koska renewables ovat hirveä tärkeä . Y ahora hablemos español?
Not to mention it cost the taxpayers plenty! The new leadership @ACCC is most welcome.
The ACCC has failed on consultation, say ANZ cartel case lawyers https://t.co/OO9T1ubcyC
The vast majority of Ukrainians barely remember the Soviet Union, and are proudly Ukrainian. But, are Russia and some of the former Soviet States en route back to the future? And what's after Ukraine?
Many pro-Russians decided that they neither wanted to die for Russia nor see their city racked by conflict. The vast majority of younger Odessans are proud to be Ukrainian https://t.co/9L9kjWNXQf
#GladysBerejiklian Is anyone wondering why the women are so quick to take the fall but the men just stare everyone down? #DanAndrews will there be no consequences for Andrew’s’ shameful handling of hotel quarantine (and what about alleged atrocities which no one discusses)
Trevor, you neglected to list “only western democracy to completely suspend its democratic process for so long and give unlimited powers to one individual, its ‘Premier,’ @DanielAndrewsMP “
Interesting to see #sackbrettsutton trending. Which of the following reasons do you think it is?
a) World's longest lockdown
b) Australia's most deaths
c) Only state with net negative migration
d) Useless curfew
e) Slow vax rollout
f) All of the above?
Case in point. The State Government is in no position to wave its finger at naughty protesters or naughty people not following the rules when it shirks its own personal responsibilities. You can't have it both ways. https://t.co/rINV8NFHdj
Agreed @DanielAndrewsMP should apologise for this brutality but what about the Work Safe finding as to Vic Govt culpability to the disastrous mgmt of hotel quarantine? He gets off scott free!!
Dan Andrews owes a personal apology to his NSW counterpart and a public apology to every single Victorian over his excessively brutal, unnecessary and ineffective lockdowns. https://t.co/8EyBf9o5OL
Yeah well you voted for @DanielAndrewsMP and you let him have unprecedented emergency powers. How many democracies do that ? I haven’t had a curfew since I was 12
Just spoke to an Aussie mate in Hong Kong. He's meeting two other Aussies in a pub tonight to watch the Grand Final. Meanwhile, us Melbourne folk can't even drop in on the fully vaccinated neighbours.
The Emperor Has No Clothes! How can the @DanielAndrewsMP Government devote police resources to arresting a guy walking his dog? Oh, I know the answer: “the LAWS say you must wear a mask,” laws created by unprecedented Emergency Powers with no Parliamentary or democratic process)
Really critical that our younger cohort understands this! It’s debilitating how the inconsistent messaging re AZ led so many people in the 20s to late 30s cohort to make the same mistake.
I’m not remotely religious, but the mocking of the PM for his religion is only going to see non-evangelical religious Aussies feel for him. Less than one per cent of Australians are Pentecostals but millions are religious and take their faith seriously.
Very proud to have served ten years on the Board of #Qantas and it’s fitting that I’m actually flying today PER-MEL. Happy birthday, #qantas100 !
