Thrilled to have presented my research at TERMIS World Congress in Seattle.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my poster and offered insight and expertise!
I would like to thank Neuroscience Ireland for their support which I am very grateful for.

This week I had the pleasure to share my research at #TERMIS2024 in Seattle! Met old friends and new ones, learnt about mind-blowing reasearch and got inspiration for my next steps - what a blast!
Two weeks ago I had the incredible honor of sharing my research, at the MPS World Summit in Seattle. The conference allowed me to network with researchers of OoC systems and expand my knowledge in this field.
I truly thank IMPSS for giving me this opportunity. #MPSWorldSummit
--- PROTEST ANNOUNCEMENT, 5th OCTOBER ---
Join the PWO as we MARCH TO THE DÁIL to protest for better PhD pay and conditions!
We won’t stop until we achieve worker status for all PhD researchers.
We are WORKERS in all but name, pay and conditions!
#PGRsDeserveBetter
I had such a wonderful time at the Lake District with @CDTLifETIME so thankful for my friends and future colleagues in the field! Special thanks to @janebalfred and @NML_ChemBioGC Elena Sanchez for our trainings!!
3. Future directions
By providing the cells with physiologically relevant features we aim to recreate specific features of MS
Using MS patient-derived samples we hope to validate our chip using currently approved medicines
Any questions are welcome! #lifETIMETC23
1. Multiple Sclerosis on a chip models for drug discovery
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex disease and the current existing models cannot replicate the pathology
Organ on a chip (OoC) models aim to recreate the complexity of the human body on a microscale #microfluidics
2. OoC validation
Using concepts from both physics and biology we have developed computer models of our OoC
Using scaled-down measurements from patients we have developed a design which recreates features that may be involved in exacerbating MS symptoms
I told my mom that people in @CURAMdevices always bring sweets from different countries. She sent me these typical cakes (pastissets) from my region to share with everybody. Moms❤️
We were delighted to host Research Together: Patients Guiding the Future of Science @UofG yesterday.
Thank you to all patients, public, industry and charity partners, students and academics for engaging and participating #engagement#Inclusion#research#science#future
We are happy to announce that we have officially began to recruit volunteers for our MS biomarkers study!

Thanks to @RBoydBarrett for raising our concerns around pay, conditions and the National Review into PhD Supports with @SimonHarrisTD
We and @PhdsPcau look forward to engaging with the Review & to taking our fight for a living wage for all PhDs forward!

Its difficult to push the boundaries of knowledge when you're starving. Irish Ph.D students sending a message that their stipend must increase from €18,500 to €28,000, in order to meet the annual living wage.
Our work, with @PhDRights, featured in another article in the @IrishTimes.
Our stipends are unliveable, & poor conditions are destroying the Irish research economy & third-level education system, which is highly dependent upon PhDs in teaching roles
