A few thoughts on this.

1. They’re 46-48 (-3.5 GB of WC) with 20 days before deadline. Plenty of time for things to unfold.

2. If they keep Lugo, I believe there has to be some confidence they can extend him this winter.

It’s notable but not everything, IMO.

When the “record vs. CWS/record vs. rest of baseball” stat was brought up last year, it was to expose them as a playoff team that didn’t belong.

Then they swept Baltimore, who had a winning record vs. teams over .500.
