Patrick M “Marty” Lancton, President-Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association, VP-TX State Association of Firefighters, Chair HPFFA Charitable Foundation
This is from the work demands analysis for District A by the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association. Since 2018, there has been an increase in fire & EMS incidents. In coordination with TIRZ 17, we are building a new station on Gessner to help meet these needs.
Eleven HFD members were honored at the 100 Club of Houston's Annual Heroes Awards Banquet for extraordinary valor and life-saving service. To have 11 on that stage says everything. Proud of each one. #HoustonFire#100ClubHouston#HeroesAwards
Captain Gabe Dominguez has spent nearly a quarter century serving Houston and his fellow firefighters — and more than a decade representing them as a member of the HPFFA Executive Board.
Since being elected in 2012, Gabe has been deeply involved in union committees focused on Health & Safety, Line of Duty Death, Public Relations, and Grievances — helping ensure every member’s voice is heard and protected.
Away from the firehouse, Gabe’s a self-proclaimed foodie who loves to travel and believes in always learning something new — a mindset he brings to everything he does.
Drop a 🔥 to thank Gabe for his years of service, leadership, and commitment to Houston’s firefighters.

Today, we honor our brothers and sisters here in Houston and around the world who answer the call with courage, skill and sacrifice.
#internationalfirefightersday
May 4 is International Firefighters Day, and we are taking a moment to recognize the men and women of HFD who show up every single day for Houston. No matter the call, no matter the hour, we stay ready 💪 #HoustonFire#InternationalFirefightersDay#HFD
Overtime is a symptom, not the problem.
Incomplete or misleading overtime numbers do not tell the full story of what it takes to keep emergency response operating in a city the size of Houston.

Now in the @HoustonChron.
HPFFA President Marty Lancton sets the record straight: our recent arbitration win was about enforcing a public contract, keeping promises already made and continuing the rebuild of the @HoustonFire Department.
Read the op-ed below.
Houston firefighters and their families know what it means to answer the call, no matter where they are.
@HoustonFire Captain Andy Roseborrough and his wife, Dr. Jyothi Lagisetty, were visiting the Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico when gunfire erupted near the Temple of the Moon.
After taking cover, they heard someone call for a doctor. They ran toward the victims and found a 6-year-old child with multiple gunshot wounds. As they worked to slow the bleeding, bystanders brought them a woman who had also been shot.
Captain Roseborrough and Dr. Lagisetty treated both victims until local bomberos arrived and transported them for care.
We are proud of Captain Roseborrough. We are grateful for Dr. Lagisetty. And we are reminded that service does not stop when the shift ends.
Congratulations to one of our own, Darren Jones, who took first place in his category at the American Burn Association Conference in Orlando.
Jones, a survivor of the Jarmese Street fire, suffered second- and third-degree burns and continues to inspire through his strength and resilience.
Well done, Darren. We’re proud of you.
Thank you to @93QCountry, @ericarico93Q, @radiokatelyn and @RiggsRadio for the Heroes Breakfast at @HoustonFire Station 84 this morning.
Your continued support means a lot to Houston firefighters, and the handmade breakfast from Erica made it even more special.
We’re grateful for all you do for our members.
Local 341 was there with pizza for the more than 500 members who took the engineer/operator promotional exam today. After a long, stressful day, it was a chance to grab a bite and unwind. Board members Tara Grace, Kevin Maynard and Brian Wilcox were on hand to greet everyone.
