5 years ago I met a great, brave Mayo man Stephen Kerr. He took me to visit his county then (and hundreds of times since). I fell completely in love with it. Yesterday, I was very happy to capture his reaction below as a 75 year curse was lifted.
Stephen fights very passionately for his county and country and it was a joy to see him pause for a moment to celebrate the Mayo team win the Sam Maguire Cup.
The celebrations after were insane in the best possible way. Like Italia 90 all over again (see the clips we filmed below).
I am a very proud working class Dub but this weekend I was happy to lend my heart and support to Mayo. Many congratulations to them on a win that was a long time coming and very well deserved.
