Rostering young players isn’t the same thing as investing in them.
We have yet to see the Ott/Gregory Suns consistently play young players with a healthy roster
Not saying it won’t happen but I’ve got to see it first
The Suns have pivoted to heavily investing in youth after the failed KD era:
- Ryan Dunn
- Oso Ighodaro
- Khaman Maluach
- Rasheer Fleming
- Koby Brea
- Koa Peat
It’s imperative a few of them are big hits to capitalize on Booker’s prime.
Two Finals MVPs (one with 2 MVPs) , Luka, a defensive player of the year, Trea Young all drafted in 2018.
Suns drafted acquired players at picks 1, 10, and 31.
Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Elie Okobo.
Just so rough.
The Knicks trailed by 27 points at halftime and won
Every single other team that trailed by 20+ points at halftime in NBA Finals history ended up losing the game by double digits
My Ja Morant to the Suns thoughts:
Overachieving into the 8th seed was fun
It seemed a lot closer to their ceiling than their floor
If you can make a move without trading kahman/Rasheer/Oso/post 27’ 1sts that raises your ceiling.
It’s a risk I’m willing to take.
