@TrentKaniuga Indeed. Stylization is a very important part of comic book art in my opinion. I'm not that interested when the style is very photorealistic to the point it looks like traced photos, I want to see the particular style an artist can put on the page, their unique point of view.
@GregCapullo I understand, we do and would do anything for our soulmate, but sometimes the most we can do is to be there for them. Best wishes and I hope everything turns out for the best.
@DannyMiki_ Mr. Miki! Big fan here and also a comic inker! I was wondering, is there some book, collection or website where you have uploaded the inks for the Bad Day Ra's Al Ghul one-shot? Your texture work there was astonishing and I'd love to study it properly :)
@MatthewFreitas6 Check the lower panel. In this case, an "explosion" texture was the best fit for the style, but I can use several other textures, with lightbeams, particles, etc. You can send me a message if you have something in mind. I'd say something akin to Justice League #1 would work
@MarkBrooksArt On that note, I'm frustrated that, after 6 years since the release of the og printing, I once again failed to get your cover for the Hox Pox OHC (I really dislike how they print covers postcard-size or smaller within collections, all the detail cannot be appreciated that way).
@MarkBrooksArt It certainly looked like that old debate between painted vs pencils/inks/colors (similar to the BW vs color debate). I LOVE both interpretations, and I'm usually partial to pencils/inks/colors, that's why I loved your collaboration with Mr. Isanove on the FOHOX/ROPOX covers!
@GlebMelnikov8 LOVE IT! By the way, which CSP brush did you use? I've been looking for one, and experimenting creating my own, to allow me to ink closer to what I would do with traditional nibs and brushes, and yours looks to be exactly what I've been looking for
Happy Letterer Appreciation Day! Each year on September 1st—Gaspar Saladino’s birthday—we celebrate the invaluable contributions that letterers make to the comic book industry!
