After hearing Thabo Bester talk, I finally get how he managed to charm Nandipha.

Thabo Bester strikes me as the type of guy who’d ask for your number and then blow up your phone with three calls a day, take you out for a fancy lunch at La Prada, and after a perfect day, drop you off at home without even hinting at anything physical. As a girl, you’d get home confused, wondering why this dude didn’t even try to make a move, only to find yourself chasing him and practically begging for his attention—meanwhile, that was his game plan all along. Then, when you slip up and say, “Baby, here’s a little something,” out of guilt, he’d lap it up like atchar on a plate. And just like that, you’re always his little snack because he knows deep down you’re hooked, thinking, “This guy gets me.”

From what I’ve seen, he’s got that narcissistic vibe going on. He’s one of those smooth operators who make girls want to ditch their keyboard-warrior boyfriends—the kind of man you’d defend to the end, no questions asked. I’d bet my life on it. 😇 He’s also the type who’ll let the squad blow cash at the groove while he sits back, never chipping in, then says at sunrise, “Nah, my money’s not for booze.”

Listening to him, it hit me: we’ve got way too many Thabo Besters out there in our neighborhoods—especially around Nhlazuka, Sun City, and Bazabazeng. 🙆🙆🙆😭

I don’t usually comment on social media, even when posts are about me, but I can’t stay silent or sleep knowing an innocent woman is in prison for defending her property and land. Her name is Yakhe Kwinana. Her reputation has been unfairly tarnished, and her character assassinated. Many judge her without knowing the facts. Let me set the record straight and dispel the lies surrounding her case.

Mrs. Yakhe Kwinana owns a farm (has a title deed) near East London Airport in the Bhongweni area. Her land was illegally invaded. She sought help from the police and municipality, but they told her it’s private land, so she had to handle it herself. She followed every legal step—going to court, securing court orders, and obtaining eviction orders. She sent the sheriff multiple times, but the invaders refused to leave. Worse, she couldn’t even step onto her own farm without being threatened, chased off with pangas and guns by these illegal occupants.

That’s when she approached me. She hired my security company to accompany and protect her while she assessed the situation on her farm. As expected, the invaders tried their usual intimidation tactics. They blew a whistle, and within minutes, a mob surrounded us, demanding we leave. My team dealt with them and secured the land. Afterward, Mrs. Kwinana held meetings with the invaders, explaining they needed to vacate her property. They refused—despite being in violation of court and eviction orders.

These invaders then turned the tables, filing harassment cases against her in court. She won every single case, and the courts repeatedly ordered them to leave her land. Yet they stayed. Some have built permanent structures—shacks, block of flats, even renting out spaces to foreigners for spaza shops or accommodations for workers from outside East London. They’ve illegally tapped into her water and electricity, services she pays for, along with rates and taxes.

Mrs. Kwinana isn’t alone. Other Black women in the area have lost their land to invaders without government support. Some are still fighting. Among the invaders are senior police officers, politicians, and government officials who use their influence to overpower landowners like her. That’s why she’s been arrested. Some invaders even offered to pay her rent while negotiating with the government to buy the land for them. This is where the “extortion” label comes from.

This raises questions that trouble me: What’s the difference between rent and extortion? Is rent extortion? Are salaries, wages, allowances, or levies extortion? If you buy a property with tenants and charge rent instead of evicting them, is that extortion? I need clarity.

The invaders operate like a syndicate. They invade a farm, sell plots for up to R100,000, defrauding other Black people. Once the land is fully occupied, they move to the next. These syndicates are known to the police and government, yet no one stops them. That’s why land invasions persist in East London. Invaders believe they’re entitled to your land, dragging cases until you give up, before grabbing another persons land.
