@Jmrheating 0% loans and required scop to be cost neutral to run. Fed up of energy companies profiteering by putting in 2.8spf heat pumps (or worse in reality).
I've completed the survey, have you?
Anyone who works in a heat pump delivering business, please get involved!
You could also win stone cool prizes π
@_heatgeek @kenbone44 @plumbers_urban
@plumbers_urban@betateachpod@_heatgeek @kenbone44 I think everyone is filling it in, either hoping to win a prize or because they want to have a say. It's not mandatory dude! π
@Tonywalkden@betateach@_heatgeek@rippin_ian Weather compensation is not more difficult on heat pumps, it's basically the same if you are used to low temperature system design. We have completed a few hundred heat pump projects in the last year or so, a handful had buffers and they all exceed average efficiency.
Couple of our engineers have been training this week, the BPEC course they're on has some questionable advice - Weather compensation is difficult, buffers are always required, use Nest or Hive to increase scop....
Who's training the trainers?!
@betateach@_heatgeek@rippin_ian
@betateach@rippin_ian@BPEC1@ofqual@UKAS @Installer365 @energygovuk@renewablewriter That sounds familiar, after we had received funding for the first Heat Geek course we were aware of some other training providers that were heavily rewarded for box ticking courses. Without retention, it's pointless.
@bobbyllew Everything I do in my work and personal life pushes towards removing reliance on fossil fuels, I do however realise that (mainly through lack of historic investment) we will unfortunately need fossil fuels for decades
Whether it's "securing supply" or profit is the big question
Once (if) we have sufficient green supply of electricity that we can start storing Hydrogen, it will be bought by the highest bidder. That highest bidder isn't going to then put it in the gas grid to sell at domestic rates.
