@ReviewsPossum The reason vampires don't show up in mirrors is because they're an allegory for (((a group of people))) that has no self-reflection and is parasitic to normal humans.
@DrDude1985@AmazonMGMStudio@PrimeVideo To be as fair as possible, the IP was pretty played out already. Atlantis never reached the peak of SG-1, and Universe was just BSG nonsense with wormholes. You can't go back to US armed forces shooting Egyptian gods without a reboot.
@glorious_succ@M_Bohemond No the US loses every time because it stumbles into some damn country without any defined goals.
Every war is sold on "kicking bad guy ass" and "FREEDOM" but after (quite effectively) kicking a bunch of random ass the military succumbs to the stage 5 cancer called "mission creep"
@diavoIosrequiem@Shr00msy@M_Bohemond Frankly, as an American, if it's worth crossing an ocean and spending American boys' lives over, it's worth a genocide of the locals. Go big or go home. We've done the worst of both worlds every time since Nagasaki.
@WanderinMisfit@AbigailFalanga Hard disagree. The JLU cartoon from '03 dealt with themes of betrayal, the corrupting nature of power, the good and ill of fear, even an episode about dealing with religious differences. And nobody had to say "fuck" to get the message across.
@AbigailFalanga I've long found it ironic that "mature" in media means lots of swearing, meaningless sex, gory violence, and heavy alcohol/drug use. None of which are attributes especially associated with mature people.
@silver72596@leemarh7099 This. In a world where adults exist, there's NO WAY a kid or group of kids is going to go on an adventure to save the world. Even if some kid was a "chosen one" in whatever way, the adults would be escorting him around and making all the decisions.
@abidhasan1021@awhitecarrot Well... yes. Maintaining something is not a one-time thing, you have to repeatedly care for things to keep them from rotting to shit. Wow, you've just opened my eyes to why the 3rd world is the way it is. You really think it's racist to make things nice??
@JohnRomeroWSU@BenBRockN Well yeah, that's kind of my point: $2M is chump change compared to winning every "predict the future" bet for a couple decades
