I think people might be missing something. None of the harkle demands were met in order to meet with Charles.
They did not get extra security.
They did not get royal accommodations.
They did not get a public apology.
They did not get to control the narrative.
They did not get to announce it to the press, the king did.
They did not get public photos.
Rachel did not get her photoshoot with her own photographer.
They did not meet Charles alone.
They could not bring a recording device.
The years of emotional blackmail campaign the harkles waged was silently won by Charles not giving into their demands and the inevitable collapse of their entire schemes, businesses, court cases, etc.
