An event to commemorate 200 years of the arrival of tea-garden workers from Tamil Nadu was celebrated in #SriLanka.

A postal stamp was released on this occasion in the presence of the Hon’ble Governor of the Eastern Province - Mr. Senthil Thondaman and the Hon’ble Speaker of Sri Lankan Parliament - Mr. Abeywardena.

The event was also attended by the NSA - Mr. Ratnayaka, Foreign Minister - Mr. Ali Sabry and several ambassadors from various countries.

श्रीलंका सरकार के निमंत्रण पर आज अशोक वाटिका में, सीता अम्मन मंदिर के कुम्भाभिषेक और सीता मैया की नव मूर्ति के प्राण-प्रतिष्ठा समारोह में सम्मिलित हुए। यही वह स्थान है जहाँ हनुमानजी ने पहली बार सीता मैया का दर्शन किया था, और उन्हें प्रभु श्रीराम से पुनर्मिलन का आश्वासन दिया था।

हरे-भरे पहाड़ों के बीच स्थित नुवारा एलिया का यह सौंदर्यपूर्ण व पावन क्षेत्र महिलाओं के लिए आशा जागृत करे; उन्हें एक न्यायपूर्ण और समृद्ध समाज में पीड़ा-मुक्त जीवन का आश्वासन देता रहे।
