Southern "girl" who loves family, the beach and the North Carolina mountains. Hoping that I can extend the love, grace and forgiveness so freely given to me.
@AcnaTruth No the WGC did when they sent it to the CofB. It was clearly stated that per the Canons if the CofB decided not to select a candidate that the election process would start over. The laity had the ability to keep voting but voted with the clergy to send to CofB and it backfired.
@DOMA_Misconduct@The_ACNA It was stated at the election that if the CofB chose not to select a Bishop that it would go back to the Diocese for another election as that is in the canons. As disappointing as it is, neither Father Martin nor Father Sharpe were able to gain a simple majority of votes.
I am not weighing in on the choice of Bob Duncan as interim for a year. I have been taught that any inspiration of the Holy Spirit has to be tested against scripture. When someone’s “inspiration” sounds exactly like that person’s agenda, it is probably them hearing themselves. It is evident that this Diocese has issues. Putting a person who could not be elected by a simple majority vote in as a permanent Bishop is not fair to that person or the Diocese.
@ViaAnglicana@vagentleman2@mrdavidrowe You have got to be friggin’ kidding me…. IDK for one our Archbishop believes in the deity of Christ, the virgin birth and the Trinity.
The laity blew it. They had the power to keep voting, and they opted out. Clarke Lowenfield didn’t do this. The laity would rather have gone to lunch than keep persisting. If you want to post any other cartoons, they should be of chickens running to the hen house. I’m thinking the will of God might have been to select better candidates to begin with.
And a judge can decide not to make the transcripts available even in cases when the record isn’t sealed. The Ruch trial is over. You may not like the end decision or have all kinds of opinions about it, but it is over. This case is not going to be https://t.co/NbkVNyWlu2 is up to the court as to whether the transcripts are released and they are not releasing them. End of story.
So is every US citizen entitled to a full trial transcript of every trial in this country because they should know what is going on in the courts of our nation? They are “the whole country” after all and as citizens have a right to know. Should we force cable networks to air 24/7 every trial?? Don’t we have a right to know? Should there be no closed court rooms because after all we deserve to see it all? Transparency is trumpeted loudest by those who have an agenda and in the majority of cases it has nothing to do with a true desire to make ACNA better. It has largely to do with people who want their agenda or idea of “justice” to win and they will use anything and everything to make that happen. The transcripts aren’t going to be released. Period. For the true health of ACNA they shouldn’t be.
Lest I remind those who may not know that there were many historic ACNA churches that lost their historic sanctuary when they left TEC and lost everything. Some are in schools. My sister’s church is in a former retail building because that is what they could afford. They have raised money to move to a former Lutheran church that needs renovation. There are some historic ACNA churches that escaped the TEC’s retribution and many ACNA churches are church plants. Mght I also suggest that I am pretty sure God doesn’t give a flying flip about the architecture of where he is worshipped. He sees the hearts of the worshippers. I might also suggest that He loves being worshipped in retail buildings with donated or handmade altar hangings and affordable pottery affordable chalices by people who lost everything to escape the heresy of Presiding Bishops who don’t believe in the diety of Christ or the Trinity, write sacraments to menstruation and have habitual sinning sodomites giving the sacraments to whitewashed tombs.
