70% of a taxi’s capacity means:

• A minibus licensed to carry 10 passengers will now carry a maximum of 7

• A minibus licensed to carry 15 passengers will now carry a maximum of 10

• A midi-bus permitted to carry 22 passengers will now carry a maximum of 15 passengers

🚨 UPDATE 🚨

Minister Mbalula has rescinded with immediate effect, the Direction which allowed for a 100% loading capacity for taxis.

The Minister has since reviewed this measure and will only allow a 70% loading capacity for Minibus taxis.

We must all appreciate that the measures we introduce to curb the spread of this virus are about preserving human life, and not about our individual narrow self-serving interests.

Every one of us must appreciate this and play their part in eradicating this pandemic.
