I had a very strange end to sockeye season yesterday. Fish and game closed the outside area of the district to allow wild pinks passing through to continue on to their spawning grounds (as they do most years. I showed back up to the pws district to fish inside the bay (small area) and instead of the 2-3 boats I would typically see for a late season opener like that, there was 40. We were all catching 2-3 fish an hour and half of them were uglies (spawned out) I fished til the weather started to rock and then called it a season. Too small of area for us all to make any money. It is what it is. I have fish to ship. Going to the vill for a week and then I’ll be home to get my inventory sorted. Coho season in August. Might get some halibut quota too. Thanks for the support gang.
