Today, I engaged with officers undertaking a course at the Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka, 52 of whom are students drawn from across the continent. We discussed strategic security, wealth creation, ICT, population growth and the dangers of sectarianism.
I emphasized that Africa’s future lies in economic and political integration, guided by Patriotism and Pan-Africanism. We must build the capacity to defend our interests in all spheres while creating prosperity and opportunities for our people.
I congratulate the students and wish them good luck.

Yesterday, I held a lecture of opportunity with the recruit trainees at both Police training schools of Kabalye, Masindi and Ikafe, Yumbe as they prepare to pass out.
I emphasized that transitioning from civilian life to policing after training requires profession identity change hence adapting to higher standards of conduct, discipline, accountability, applying laws, serving the community and respecting command structure.
I linked the role of security and development programs especially the Parish Development Model (PDM) that requires focus and commitment in tackling agricultural crimes. When development fails, crime fills the vacuum thus requiring law enforcers to build relationships, share information, and integrate Police work into the broader development agenda
