One of the most unforgettable endings in comedy history reportedly came from a simple financial problem. During the production of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), the filmmakers were working with a budget of roughly $400,000, leaving little room for the massive medieval battle they had originally envisioned.
Rather than attempting an expensive finale, the creative team transformed their limitations into a brilliantly absurd punchline. Just as King Arthur’s quest approaches its dramatic conclusion, modern-day police suddenly arrive, arrest him, and bring the entire adventure to an unexpected halt.
The result became a perfect example of Monty Python’s signature humor: unpredictable, ridiculous, and completely uninterested in following traditional storytelling rules. What might have been a disappointing production setback instead produced one of the most memorable endings in comedy cinema, proving that sometimes the greatest creative breakthroughs happen when filmmakers are forced to work with less.
FINAL: SMU 94, Texas A&M 88.
Another year, another late blown lead to SMU. The good news is this one doesn’t count, and I don’t think we’ll see this team shoot it worse than 6-for-27 from 3.
PJ Haggerty and Jordan Pope look good together. Not much help outside of those two.
Morrison: Change Volleyball into a powerhouse contender.
Bucky: Year One did amazing with what he had. See how Year Two pans out.
Earley: Year Two hosted Regional "yes lost" and he did some major rehaul in pitching department off-season.
Elko: Year 3 can't change QB
