I genuinely wish Alex’s family would take their issues off social media.

This is the same space that dragged him mercilessly when his engagement to Fancy was called off, with all kinds of wild narratives flying around until he stepped away from the spotlight.
If he hadn’t already been buried, I’m certain some would have demanded his body remain in the mortuary indefinitely, just like Mohbad’s case.

Evercare is a reputable hospital, why not obtain a court or police order, visit the facility, review his medical records, and point out any actual discrepancies with what they were told?

Social media will never provide the closure or answers they seek. Instead, it only deepens the divide. His father is now grieving the loss of his son while dealing with this unnecessary drama. Very few seem to consider that man’s emotional wellbeing.

The claim that his mother wasn’t invited to the burial is as baseless as a politician’s campaign promise. Na Alex birthday celebration where she was sidelined? Some of these accusations simply don’t add up.

I thought we learned from Mohbad’s family saga, but clearly not. On social media, we value the next gist more than peace. We monetize tragedy, show little real care, and move on once the engagement drops.

If you’re committed to dragging the stepmother and his friends, understand this: there’s no way to do it without tarnishing Alex’s memory in the process.

Nigeria has now been delisted from the International Maths Olympiad, whose finals are happening in Shanghai, China, this July.

It is one of the most prestigious academic competitions in the world.

Nigeria can now only participate as an observer nation, while other countries can participate fully.

This was because of the Ministry of Education’s inability to fund students for 4 consecutive years through National Mathematical Center.

It’s a big shame for Nigeria.
