What a week. Proud of my team, proud of @mariecurieuk and also VERY proud to have attended the #PinkNewsAwards for our nomination in the Third Sector category. We didnโt take home the prize but it was a wonderful and inspiring evening all the same. Thanks @PinkNews!
If any trans people would be interested in sharing their views as to how the healthcare system can better tailor to their needs when it comes to en-of-life care, my DMs are always open and I promise a safe space to share your views.
A big shoutout to @jamie_windust, @superdrug and my fab colleagues at @mariecurieuk for all of the combined efforts to produce this report, which I hope will be a great stepping stone to learn more about how we tailor end-of-life care and support to the LGBTQ+ community.
@jamie_windust @superdrug@mariecurieuk You'll also spot a foreword by yours truly that I poured my own experiences into, which I hope resonates with some of you. I'm now looking forward to doing even more work in this area, especially focusing on my trans siblings and their specific needs.
@richscott42 @ThanksCancer Thanks so much for sharing and being open about how youโre feeling. Sending love, positive vibes and strength your way. ๐

It's been a very busy couple of months running up to Pride season at Marie Curie. As Chair of the LGBTQ+ Staff Network, I've been working closely with colleagues on lots of exciting pieces of work so that we can reach more LGBTQ+ people with dedicated support and resources. (1/2)
LGBTQ+ people, like everyone else, have the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and to spend their last months, weeks, and days with the people they love.

It's called bionic reading โ the first few letters are bolded, making it easier for readers to glide through text and stay focused.

90,000 people die in poverty every year in the UK. For families affected by terminal illness, the cost of living crisis, and expenses that come with a terminal diagnosis make things even worse.

Two years ago today I watched the PM announce the imminent start of lockdown. What followed has been two years of intense, challenging, yet career-defining hard work. Forever grateful for such wonderful colleagues who have been supportive and understanding. Life is changed.
