Soviet sniper Semyon Nomokonov (1900–1973), credited with 368 kills during WW2. Propaganda photoshoot.
An ethnic Evenk (Siberian), Nomokonov was born in a poor family of herders and brought up as a hunter, from the age of 7.
Unlike other snipers, Nomokonov never used a telescopic sight for his rifle, despite making all his kills from 300-500 and even 1000 m distance. This earned him the name of ‘Hawk Eye’ (Глаз коршуна). +
