The Spirit of God always leads us to humility, mercy, forgiveness, and love.
We live in a sin corrupted world and we feel powerless to do anything about the evil that surrounds us. Two things we can do are: (1) pray, asking God to intervene in the cares and concerns of our heart, and (2) commit to loving our neighbor.
To correctly bear God’s image in this world requires that we are connected to Him. We need God’s wisdom, love, and grace coming into our lives so it can influence the choices we make and the things that we do.
The deep work that needs to happen in our hearts and minds can only be done through the work of the Spirit. Without prayer and our intentional effort to follow Jesus transformation will not happen.
We can't allow our partisan political culture to be the greatest influence in spiritual formation. If we do, then we will end up looking just like the world.
True surrender to God requires letting go of our own will and embracing His, trusting that His plan is better than ours. We need to trust Him more than we trust ourselves.
