Today's my first anniversary of being self-employed! Huge thanks to all my lovely, brilliant clients for making this a successful and enjoyable first year. Here's a blog post about it, along with some birding highlights. https://t.co/qoUOVPUNb2
I went on a trip down memory lane with this story in the new November issue of @BirdWatchingMag, featuring snipe, sanderlings, spotted flycatchers, yellowhammers and a dog called Smartie...
Both pectoral sandpipers on the Western Reedbed about half an hour ago, one showing well, then this bittern at the Eastern Reedbed crossroads @RSPBAireValley@BirdGuides@SwillyIngsBG

Always worth a visit to @YorksWildlife Askham Bog. So lucky to have it just up the road. Today's highlights: garden warbler & female blackcap by the pond + great spotted woodpecker. Soundtrack of song thrush, chiffchaffs, willow warblers, blackbirds, robins & wrens @YorkBirding
Beautiful morning for a quick walk at North Duffield Carrs @LDV_NNR Skylarks and chiffchaffs singing, blossom looking stunning, pair of bullfinches + strong duck line-up, starring 8 or more pairs of pintail. @YorkBirding
Today the American wigeon near East Cottingwith was much more obliging (and actually there, which helped). Pic taken at around 2.20pm today.

Waited a lot of winters for one of these! Iceland gull at Haverton Hill, still here at 3.20pm. Absolute beauty! Huge thanks @fosterian1971 and the gent I was chatting to here this morning for such helpful tips on the site and timings. @BirdGuides@teesbirds1
