@Conorwhelanire@Betgolfworld I was at Portmarnock for the Irish Open in 2003, it pished all day Sunday making it a real test. I’m sure they’ll have it up to scratch for hosting the Open
@Betgolfworld Agree it’s a proper test. Portrush can be brutal too but maybe Birkdale doesn’t rely as much on benign conditions to make it difficult to play. Hopefully Portmarnock gets the green light, it’s a great track and would make a fitting host
@Nick_Metcalfe In excess of 100 million people play cue sports in Asia alone…it’s actually inconceivable it’s not already an Olympic sport on that basis
Top players are still going strong in their 40s and 50s these days, but there is plenty of young talent on the tour as well.
I've had a look at the 30 best snooker players under 30.
Eight nationalities represented. One a lot more than the rest.

As tradition (although a little later than expected), love listening to the lads after a tournament finishes. Puts a different perspective on their analysis and knowledge. Top class as always. Great chatting to you in Sheffield @philhaigh_@Nick_Metcalfe
Snooker Twitter/X…..the amount of pure vitriol posted this past few days is mind boggling. It highlights how little people know about the players.
