@oldhockeycards I witnessed the game, as a young teenager. “Machine Gun”, Lanny McDonald scored 62 his last year of junior in Medicine Hat. I believe it was a hip check. Our family had just bought a colour TV.
@Sportsnet@SportsnetSpec He pretty much single-handedly lost that game. The topper was breaking and giving Miller an uncontested scoring chance. I don’t get it. There doesn’t seem to be much accountability?
@ThatEricAlper Believe this was the first LP. Second hand from a store called Bullwinkle’s General Store. They also sold magazines, rolling papers, and hash pipes.
@oldhockeycards Late in the thread, let me throw in Chicago’s MPH and WHA Oilers GMC. Pit Martin, Jim Pappin and Bobby Hull. Great Gretzky, Blair McDonald and Brett Callaghan.
@oldhockeycards In ‘64 and ‘65, Mikita had 146 and 154 pim’s in a 70 game season. Two years later he won a Lady Byng. I read that his young daughter asked why he sat in another box than his teammates? After reflecting, he changed his style of game. 🤔
