@WitchVein@konstructivizm The original frames aren't gray. This was taken with JunoCam, a visual light color camera that captures red, green, and blue separately. This is color-enhanced to show atmospheric details, so you're right it doesn't look as the naked eye would see it.

An astronaut in orbit is weightless; a skydiver in free fall is weightless; a black hole is weightless. No scale.

If the disrupted moon is far enough from the planet, outside its Roche limit, the gravity of its pieces overcomes the planet's tidal force and pulls it back together; inside the limit, you get a ring.
