@EdwardNRose1@CalMac_Updates A fast rescue craft is more to be used in case of a MOB. It is also used to tow and manover life rafts. And marine evacuation systems away from the sinking vessel. So yes there is a valid reason for capacity reduction. Also would be set by the MCA not Calmac.
@LeadHostSarah Pretty interesting tbh. But a bit like every first aid course ever just a bit more in depth due to the nature of the marine environment being many many miles away from help.
@Elwick70 Sounds fair enough. We can start training to work at sea at 17. As long as we 18before our first trip away. If people can pass the exams etc they should be able to do it. Like how many people on a train know how old the driver is why should that matter.
@Themaritimepil2 Out of intreast have you ever done car carriers and what where your thoughts on then and handling. We where attempting to get in to a port one day and couldn't make the jetty as the wind was to strong and overpowering the tugs.
@_TMsteve Hahahhaa wish I knew. Built in South Korea crewed by people from everywhere as soon as we have boots and hard hats we hitting heads. Even with out boots and hard hats I still am. I'm one of the small guys as well sooo. Wish they made it taller.
@Elwick70 I'm studying to be a deck officer in the UK. Most of the day we been talking about it. Sooo many issues with what's been said on twitter by random people. No we can't stop or turn on a dime. Just it's. A day to stay of thr Internet for us.
@Coastway_Will All trains are getting cancelled. All none essential staff replaced with robots. And we are going to start running rail replacement ships when it goes wrong. Oh and no new stations for the foreseeable future.
@Champs707007 That there really is my camera roll is full of them. Even on the gloomiest wet windy days. There's something spectacular. If I want to get my feet wet to go outside and take a pic is another matter.
Intreasting working in an American port for the day and hearing the noise of a train. So must go take a picture. America seems to love freight trains seeing how long it was.
@steve149c Hehhe we have for free 1500mb a week which is from starlink. So goes threw it stupidly quickly. Crew was sociable initially when we had unlimited WiFi in a shared area. Now that's gone there's not really that anymore sadly. It's still good I'm enjoying it just like yikess.
