This is really great to see even if it is another artificial pitch. I hated that old Livi one with a passion.

Assuming this new one will be like Falkirk’s which looks good to be fair.

This of course is currently the last season where artificial pitches are allowed in the top flight.

Be an interesting scenario if Raith Rovers were to win the Championship and all of Falkirk, Livi and Kilmarnock stayed up.

I know Killie have already committed to move back to grass but could we really see the SPFL force all four of those clubs to spend £1m+ each putting in a grass pitch in the above scenario?

My own views on this have softened, I just can’t be having teams potentially denied promotion because of their pitch.

That would be a terrible look IMO same as it was back in the 90s when we were denying teams promotion because they didn’t have enough seats.

I’ve come round to a middle ground being a more sensible approach whereby a particular (high) standard of artificial pitch is permitted.
