If you think today has been an emotional rollercoaster, just know that an hour before I went to the studio, I finally finished The Last Of Us Part 2.
Whiplash doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Y’all are dramatic as fuck. Dr Who as a critical punchingbag still makes too much money to be cancelled. Nobody gives up on IP these days. That’s why there’s like 8 Ninja Turtles movie franchises.
Shows coming back for certain. Quality, remains to be seen.
I’m never in need of new Who stories because I’ll die before I consume all of the spin-off media. Hope to see it back on screens eventually but Dr Who hasn’t been just a telly show for a while. It’s bigger on the inside.
if we're really quick we can go ahead and divvy up who's writing the Bold, Adult, Semi-Cringe Novel Continuation Series now so we don't have to wait 3-4 years
Signed, someone who has never worked in television and has no real qualifications to justify voicing an opinion. (I mean, I have a screen studies degree, but it’s from LJMU so I might as well have done it in crayon)
Hey I don’t even go here any more but hot dr who take: regeneration was not built for “do 3 years and leave” It was meant for the days when guys stayed 5 years or 7 years. It was never meant to sustain a lead actor change every three seasons. You’re bleeding the effect dry.
@sanna865@bbcmerseyside Yep, first 15 mins of the interview was about Peter’s musical pursuits in his youth and his return to it recently. He didn’t mention The Devil’s Hour specifically, sorry!
Hi Doctor Who Twitter! Long time no see. Just wanted to mention that I got the extraordinary chance to chat with Peter Capaldi and he was delightful! You can hear it on @bbcmerseyside on the Sean Styles show, today from 10am. And on sounds afterwards. K love you bye!
People are right, Taylor Swift shouldn’t be encouraging her young and impressionable fans to *checks notes* save a wildlife sanctuary and go to European art museums.
Finally watched The Star Beast and I’m about to show incels how you conduct yourself when you didn’t really enjoy a Dr Who episode.
(Spoilers: it’s with grace and fucking decorum for those who did enjoy it.)
The Devil’s Chord is instantly one of my favourite episodes ever. Maestro is an all time classic Who villain. They will come back over and over. They will be in the 100th anniversary special. I guarantee it.
Dr Who is boss because there can be an episode that’s a bit rubbish but then the next one is bloomin’ AMAZING and you end up forgiving the rubbish one because even when Dr Who is rubbish, it’s better than anything else on tele.
I’m 10 mins into Space Babies and now we know why BBC turned down Ian Levine’s weird as fuck AI animation - it’s because they were already using it to make babies talk.
Had such a “they can’t do this!” reaction for about 3 mins. Then realised TV is different and the show needs to be too. And it’s more shocking that they didn’t do this sooner.
Funny how our brains can lash out at the idea of evolving, adapting, regenerating.
Change, m’dears!

Doctor Who premieres with two episodes on @BBCiPlayer in the UK 11th May and @DisneyPlus 10th May where available.
I’m watching Nightmare In Silver and trying to work out why it just doesn’t quite *work*. All the building blocks are there, it’s like they just don’t quite fit together.
