"The criticism and negativity Cristiano Ronaldo gets from some pundits is starting to look personal. Every time Portugal plays, the conversation somehow always comes back to Ronaldo.

Some of these people retired at 35 or 37, yet they constantly question a player who is still competing at the highest level. If it was so easy, why didn't they continue playing themselves?

It sometimes feels like certain people are waiting for Cristiano to fail just so they can blame him and mock him. But what exactly are they mocking? This is a player who has achieved almost everything football can offer. His legacy is already written in the history of the game.

You don't have to like Ronaldo, that's your choice. But you have to respect what he has accomplished. Many of those criticizing him never reached the level he has maintained for over two decades.
