The @BedsHCAcademy team had a brilliant time visiting the Riverbank Ward @bedfordhospital. It was inspiring hearing about the different journeys of the staff working there and the advice they would give to young people interested in a career in Paediatrics. Bring on cohort 4! 👶
Another successful cohort of The Health & Care Academy+ programme! 🎉
The students completed their last session on the Academy practicing CPR, learning about first aid techniques and vital signs monitoring.
The @BedsHCAcademy team wish them all the best of luck for the future. 👋
Thankful to ‘Bedfordshire Health and Care Academy’ for their invitation to reflect on my professional practise & share the passion with CYP in schools to help inspire next generation in pursuing a career in health care sector.

I absolutely love this, fantastic for ICU and neurodivergent patients but applicable to any patient in any clinical area. When we know what each alarm is, what each hiss is, and what each abbreviation is we forget how terrifying each one can be for those who don’t know! 👏🏼👏🏼
ICU can be an extremely challenging environment for autistic people
For #WorldAutismAcceptanceWeek we have made this video to give an idea of the sensory challenges of being an ICU patient

Last week @remyadast and @ChipetaHilda had a great time attending @thebedfordsixth for a careers fair on behalf of the Trust. There was brilliant student engagement and an opportunity to work collabortively with staff from Primary Care to promote careers in the #NHS 🤝
If anyone has a secret mobile phone hidden from an abusive partner, remember to switch off or put in airplane mode or the phone will be activated with the loud alert on the evening of 23/04. #DomesticAbuse@NHSsafeguarding@SANNnhs
I don’t usually post personal news but Clinicians have told us to pull every lever.

Students on the @BedsHCAcademy Plus Programme enjoyed practical sessions on vital signs, Basic Life Support and first aid, with lots of fun and laughter thrown in the mix for good measure with our CPR playlists, first aid olympics and so much more! 🩹🌡️
Last Saturday saw the launch of the Bedford Health & Care Academy + for 2023! The group completed ice breakers, team building exercise and also explored the power of effective communication and values in the NHS! Looking forward to next weekend already 🤩

A fantastic few hours spent with some of our amazing apprentices and their assessors / supporters, celebrating all that they have achieved. So good to see how the apprenticeship route is opening up opportunities in clinical and non clinical roles #NAW2023
