@Number10cat@TiceRichard I was 13, and we didn't have schools closed. But we did have ice cream vans coming into the school (cider pops the preferred option), water bomb fights at school, and sleeping downstairs with doors and windows open, and our family dog, Robbie, sleeping beside me. Great fun...
@ScottGoetz_ Of course not. My mother was Irish, my dad English and I was born and raised in England. I support England, and also Ireland against anyone except England. That's not uncommon at all.
@jeremycorbyn Not deploying the atomic bomb against Japan would also have had huge implications in terms of allied casualties. You will never realise that not doing something also involves terrible outcomes.
@ClarkeMicah No, not needless. If Britain stood out, and France and Russia won, they'd never trust Britain again and would sort out imperial disputes between themselves, Britain get lost.
And, more likely, if Germany won, they'd have an existential threat, with no allies. No good decision.
@Bbmorg Not scared, but it's a bit sad the Abrahamic religions have God a bit obsessed and worried about women's clothing. There's a closet divinity there somewhere.
@Nortonhammer2@colour_history No, not that. A huge fear that if Britain stood out, and France and Russia won, they'd never trust Britain again and would sort out imperial disputes between themselves.
And, much more likely, if Germany won, they'd have an existential threat, with no allies. No good decision.
