Not missing—disappeared.

No phone call. No charges. No lawyer.

And days later, a message appears—he’s been deported to a country he’s never been to, locked in a concrete hell designed for gang leaders and killers.

That’s not a story from Argentina’s Dirty War or Stalin’s gulags.

It happened in the United States—in 2025.

And it’s still happening, as you read this.

Your claim is simply not true. Since the creation of the Department of Education, graduation rates have hit record highs, racial achievement gaps have narrowed, and younger students have seen major gains in math and reading.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) shows that since the 1970s:

9- and 13-year-olds’ reading and math scores have increased, particularly for Black and Hispanic students, who were once systematically left behind.

High school completion rates have risen dramatically—Black and Hispanic graduation rates have nearly closed the gap with white students.

Access to education for students with disabilities has expanded—before federal protections, millions of disabled students were excluded from school entirely.
The only scores that have remained flat are those for 17-year-olds—which suggests that later-stage education needs more investment, not less oversight. Blaming the DOE for this while ignoring the role of state funding decisions, growing child poverty, and other socioeconomic factors is dishonest.

If you’re concerned about student performance, the answer isn’t dismantling the only agency that enforces educational standards—it’s ensuring states are using federal resources effectively, rather than slashing budgets and redirecting money away from classrooms.

The push to abolish the Department of Education isn’t about “returning control to the states.” It’s about removing the last federal safeguards that ensure equal access to education.

The Department of Education exists because states—especially those in the South—failed to provide adequate funding, protections for students with disabilities, and compliance with civil rights laws. When education was left purely to the states, segregation was enforced, special needs students were ignored, and funding disparities between rich and poor districts widened into permanent inequalities. Federal oversight is the only reason those failures were ever addressed.

What Abbott and Trump are proposing is not education reform—it’s the elimination of accountability. It’s a deliberate step toward defunding public schools, rolling back civil rights protections, and funneling resources into private, unregulated institutions that serve only those who can afford them. It’s a blueprint for an education system where zip code and wealth determine opportunity, and where millions of students are left behind simply because their states refuse to prioritize them.

Anyone calling to abolish the Department of Education is calling to undo decades of progress and return to a time when education was a privilege for the few, not a right for all. And that is a clock we cannot allow to be turned back.

- The vast majority of the military aid we're providing Ukraine comes directly from existing U.S. military stockpiles.

Another massive Russian attack. It's the middle of winter, and the target for the Russians remains unchanged: our energy infrastructure. Among their objectives were gas and energy facilities that sustain normal life for our people. Over 40 missiles were launched in this attack, including ballistic missiles. At least 30 were destroyed. Additionally, more than 70 Russian attack drones were launched overnight. Thanks to our air defense forces and all involved units, we’ve managed to maintain the functionality of our energy system.

However, we must continue strengthening the capabilities of Ukraine’s air shield. Promises made by partners at the NATO summit in Washington and within the Ramstein format still remain partially unfulfilled. We’ve also discussed licenses for the production of air defense systems and missiles for them, which could serve as one of the effective security guarantees for Ukraine. This is both realistic and necessary to implement.

We are grateful to everyone who is helping our nation. But this is not just about our country. Right now, through the defense of Ukraine, we are determining whether Europe and the democratic world as a whole can reliably and effectively stop wars for the long term.

"The Medicare $2,000 cap, its going to kick in in 2025. He’s going to be out there saying, 'I did this.' How’s that going to make you feel when that happens?" he asked.

"Look: I’ve invested more in red states than in blue states with all these programs we just talked about," said Biden. "The reason for that was that the red states didn’t operate very well, and they really hurt their constituents so those factories closed and the like."

"The fact is that I represent all of America, not just Democrats," the president continued. "And I think what it’s going to do is bring the country more together than separate it."

"And for example, you already have folks like Marjorie Taylor Greene and others saying, 'Don’t eliminate the factory,' after talking about how the proposal to build it was the worst idea anybody’s ever had," Biden continued. "She didn’t vote for it."

"So I think there’s going to be a bit of a comeuppance here but the bottom line is I'm convinced that over time the American public will respond to what is the intention of the party to try to help ordinary people," he went on.

"And the fundamental change I made — and I made a speech at Brookings Institution about it recently — was on the economy," said Biden.

"The fact is that we had a long time this idea of trickledown economics," he said. "Let the wealthy do very, very well. They'll have so much money it'll trickle down on people's kitchen tables and coffee tables and the like and everyone will benefit. I never bought that theory!"

"And so what I've decided to do is to change it to build the economy from the middle out and the bottom up," explained Biden. "The wealthy still do very well but the middle class and the working class people do much, much better.

"And that's exactly what's happening and so I think the long term prospects for the country are very good," he added.
