I must adjust my sleeping pattern urgently. Getting up at 2.45am and going to bed at 8.30pm with afternoon naps is unhelpful.

My knee finally gave up on the last day, still it was only a train ride down the Jungfrau and Eiger. It's feeling a ok now.

Burnt over 8000 calories each day! I couldn't eat enough to replace them so lost 11lbs in weight.

Well it's over now. I managed to top out on 6 peaks and failed on 2 more due to high winds near the narrow summit ridges.

4 done now. Its pretty tiring stuff. I have a days rest and then its on to the next 3 or 4 peaks in the Bernese Oberland. Knee OK!!

Well 3 down and another on Friday. Everything is OK including my knee. Its a long way down from 3500m! Weather has been very kind.

My rucksack fits the cabin criteria. But I need a larger holdall, I only hope that it weighs less than 23 kg when it's full!!

I can't believe there's just over a week to go before the Alps.....must try to get fitter!!
