Over the past four months, I’ve spent time listening. Sitting in women’s groups. Visiting refuges. Hearing how language lives inside abusive relationships, and how words can stay long after someone has left.
Domestic abuse has no look, no income level, no job title. It happens in homes, workplaces, and communities everywhere. Around one in five children in the UK are estimated to live in homes affected by domestic abuse, many unseen, unheard, and carrying far more than we realise.
Of all the airplane food that I’ve eaten over 25 years this wins the award for the most putrid. They swapped it for fish which was also inedible. It was ‘Pollock’ apparently. Close maybe if you change a couple of letters.
