Proud to be a Liberal Democrat, British & pro-European. A passionate advocate for social justice & the environment. Speaking up for Winchester & Chandler’s Ford
The lies and corruption can no longer be sustained.
First Javid and now Sunak resigning.
It's like rats abandoning a sinking ship to save their own skin.
They always knew Boris Johnson wasn't trustworthy but they only took action when it started damaging them in the polls.
Plan to ‘offshore’ refugees in Rwanda for processing is condemned as ‘unworkable and nasty’.
People fleeing to the UK for safety will instead be shipped to a country known to practice torture.
This government has no compassion for the most vulnerable

This is really good news and shows what a strong petition together with a strong stance by local Ward Councillors (myself, Kathleen Becker and John Tippett-Cooper) can do. Thanks to Steve & Louise Kan for raising the petition. Local democracy in action. https://t.co/FUz0GZ4Aea
@Rosondo Hi Rosie, I’m not aware of any specific collections right now but contact SWVG - they’re coordinating things & may need volunteers. Also write to the MP & ask him to put pressure on Gov to make it as easy as possible for Ukrainian Regugees to be able to come quickly to UK.
If you live in #Winchester or nearby, please come to a peace vigil for Ukraine 🇺🇦 tomorrow night (Tues 1st March) in Abbey Gardens at 6pm #StandingWithUkraine
This decision by BP is to be applauded but we need other British companies to do the same. What Putin is putting the Ukrainian people through is simply horrifying and the world must step up. #StandWithUkriane
Thousands are already fleeing Ukraine fearing persecution from Russian forces - including children & other vulnerable groups
UK has a proud history of supporting those fleeing war & persecution, please sign this petition to ensure UK does its part now ⬇️

I have written to the MP for Winchester & Chandler’s Ford urging him to add his voice to the calls for Boris Johnson to resign.
If I broke the rules and lied in my job as a veterinary surgeon, I would get struck off. Why are politicians not held to the same standard?
#BorisOut
Really happy & proud that @WinchesterCity - on a cross-party unanimous basis - voted to support the motion affirming our District’s support 4 refugees/people applying for asylum, support 2 the @RefugeeTogether campaign & add WCC to a list of supporters of @CityofSanctuary
This headline says it all! ‘Brexit: ‘the biggest disaster any government has ever negotiated’ …And the full consequences haven’t even been felt yet. #Brexit https://t.co/AeVjhcaQht
‘The Gov have assigned the task of ending the level playing field of free and fair elections to Department for Levelling Up.’ Making it harder for the young & those without ID to vote is not levelling up, it’s a deliberate attempt to rig the system. https://t.co/xnIr1S6z8S
I wish this wasn’t true but then this is a Conservative chancellor in Boris Johnson’s Conservative Government. Why would a British Chancellor of the Exchequer prioritise talks with US health chiefs over British businesses?
The Financial Times says that while he was in California this week Rishi Sunak failed to attend a roundtable discussion with the UK hospitality sector. Treasury insiders said - and I kid you not - that the meeting clashed with a scheduled call with *US healthcare bosses*.
So pleased to be part of #LibDems Helen Morgan’s win. The Conservatives need to take notice, For too long they’ve taken the British people for granted and yesterday in #northshropshirebyelection voters came together to say enough is enough! @helenhalcrow https://t.co/oNctC66leu
Spent today chatting to voters who are extremely disillusioned with politics.
Thousands of long-term Tory voters are placing their hope in @helenhalcrow and the @LibDems because they believe honesty and integrity is more important than the voting along the same old party lines.
#Democracy is hard won and easily lost. By silently slipping through late amendments to the Police & Crime bill, the Government are deliberately seeking to make it even harder to protest. Without protest democracy is lost. Why are our MPs not in uproar? https://t.co/dDwGDSvF3W
It scares me more people aren’t up in arms about this. Winchester MP #SteveBrine voted for this bill on its 3rd reading, knowing it will lead to private companies having more say in our NHS - the kind of companies that pay him a consultancy fee every month. Simply shameful. #NHS
Disastrous #NHS Bill passes 3rd reading 294 to 244. Only hope Lords do better - services must be delivered publicly not by US health giants with an NHS logo. Let’s #scrapnhsbill & replace with laws to protect NHS forever & bring social care into NHS family where it belongs🌈
I really hope every MP with a conscience votes against the Govt amendment on social care tonight including #SteveBrine.
No ifs, no buts - changes to the cap will disproportionately affect the less well off & working age people with life long conditions. https://t.co/YojEsaO1fS
