This is a good example of the standard, approved narrative about white flight that I think is just a poor theory of other minds, as much as it is anything. It’s just incorrect about what was in people’s heads and why. What the residents of Boston (and elsewhere) were worried about was declining academic performance and increased levels of violence. And of course that’s exactly what happened in schools that integrated. This isn’t my opinion. It’s just a fact about the world that academic performance went down and violence proliferated, which is exactly what parents were worried about.

Liberals try to avoid reckoning with this unfortunate reality by saying that these things only happened precisely because white people left. But that’s just, again, not a very good theory of human behavior or psychology. Why would that happen? It doesn’t make any sense! So the liberal holds in their head the view that the existing white population was wrong about what would happen, but also OK maybe they were right, but those things wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t have left.

This is not a very good theory!

The result is an unfalsifiable worldview in which you never have to grapple with the actual claims people made or the fact that they were vindicated. You start with the conclusion and then no matter what you learn, try to fit those facts together with what you already believe.

At Genspect in 2023, I predicted that the Supreme Court would pitch a shutout on transgender demands to
-- medically transition minors as a matter of right that cannot be banned
-- deceive parents about the mental health of their children by assigning new names and pronouns to their children at school without parental notice or consent
-- force people to use preferred pronouns
-- allow men who claim to be women to compete in women's sports
-- propagandize children that any of them can change sex without parental opt outs
-- require every school and public accommodation in America to grant recognition of anyone claiming to be the opposite sex and access to sex segregated facilities by gender identity rather than sex

It was an optimistic prediction and we're early still -- but so far so good

What I learned from watching and interacting with Palestinians so far:

1.They don’t recognize Israel as a state—calling it al-kayan (“the entity”) or “the Zionist entity,” both degrading terms in Arabic.

2.They don’t want Israel to have any piece of land; they claim the entire land as theirs and believe the millions of Jews there should be expelled—if not killed—or “sent back to Europe.”

3.They view Jews as the eternal enemies of Muslims, as stated in the Qur’an.

4.They await the “Last Day” when they believe they will slaughter every Jew until they hide behind stones and trees—trees that, according to Islamic texts, will reveal their presence.

5.They see killing Jews as a legitimate act of “resistance” and a sacred right. Anyone who does it and dies is a “martyr,” not a terrorist—destined for paradise with 72 virgins—and should be exalted as a hero.

6.They believe that hiding or covering up the actions of the “resistance,” or supporting it in any capacity, is participation in it—while any criticism or exposure is considered treason.

7.They consider any participation in media— even through deception, exaggeration, or manipulation—legitimate, as long as it’s against the enemy, and part of the “resistance.”

8.They believe the entire world is responsible for their situation. They always cast themselves as the ultimate victims, claim their cause is more important than any other in the world, and believe they deserve endless aid and global sympathy.
