The Fullerton Women’s Club gave $5,000 to Golden Hill Elementary School at the monthly meeting. This money will be used to create a sensory area at the school for students on the autism spectrum. I so enjoy my membership in the #FullertonWomensClub
This Friends of Jazz group is a nonprofit organization created to keep music education in Fullerton Public schools. Each year their major fundraiser is a Mardi Gras gala. Fullerton 4th graders from Beechwood Elementary School did a great performance of 3 musical jazz selections

I was asked to be interviewed after seeing the demonstration of the Immersion Theater in #LaHabra. This will be another wonderful learning environment at the La Habra Children’s Museum. It was also great to talk with Joanne Culverhouse, Superintendent of La Habra School District
Thanks to Maritza Bermudez for organizing this gathering of #parents to allow me to share ideas on #education & answer questions. It was a great time to discuss challenges as well as look to #schools where students are doing well. Lots of topics were discussed this evening.
Dancing dinosaurs were the hit of the evening at the La Habra Children’s Museum! Our family enjoyed many trips to this fabulous hands-on museum for children over many years as they were growing up. Kudos to all the staff and volunteers who keep it going.
The first Fullerton School our group visited was Maple Elementary where we saw a 6th-grade class working on a project. The student teams had to design floor space inside of a tent to fit 4 sleeping bags w/ enough space for walking around easily inside. A real-life math lesson.
Wonderful to hear Joanne Culverhouse, Superintendent of #LaHabra Schools, speak about all the new learning opportunities now in place, like the dual immersion language program where students receive instruction in Spanish and English. Mayor Tom Beamish also spoke at the luncheon.
The Centralia School District Expo in #BuenaPark featured many talented students onstage games for children as well as information tables and resource materials for parents.
The #FullertonPublicLibrary was the location for a hands on session in how to use the new voting machines. Every registered voter in OC received a ballot by mail. If the voter doesn't want to use the paper ballot, the machines at the Vote Center can be used. #everyvotecounts
St. Jude Medical Center sent five of their staff people to the math night. They had students select from plastic food items to put on a plate to talk about portion sizes which are important in childhood obesity. There was a take-home flyer available as well.
