MONTADER MADJED (21) 🇮🇶 RW, is a player I've now watched on seven occassions since last summer. There's a clearly capable player there, and one who I think is due a step up right now - if it's the right club - or at the end of the Allsvenskan season (finishes in December) at the latest.

Yesterday I watched him score two goals vs Degerfors, whilst being heavily involved in a third, en route to HAMMARBY winning 4-0. Taking him to seven goals in 1707 minutes so far this season.

Here's what I observed vs Degerfors... 

▫️When Hammarby are in possession on the far-side, he tends to hold width and keep the opposing full back isolated.

▫️Very much a winger archetype who likes to play high and wide until he receives the ball, then he'll mostly look to invert.

▫️Out-of-possession he squeezes inside when the ball is far-side.

▫️Intelligent presser - when the game is in front of him, he decelerates at the right time. Forces opposition to play laterally or backwards by closing passing lanes, and takes good angles in approach.

▫️Sits on the perimeter of the box on freekicks, waiting for loose balls to drop.

▫️Tried a neat flick down the touchline. Reward outweighed the risk. It didn't come off, but I liked the intent as the pitch had opened up for the receiver to attack.

▫️Interplay proficiency - follows the ball after the initial pass, which is a good indicator of cognitive wing play. It offers an escape, creates space for another receiver, can generate overloads or increase the tempo of the play.

▫️Comfortable making short passes with weak foot.

▫️Short, tight touches when dribbling. Compounded with his agility, it enables him to change directions, and forces the defender to constantly be in a reactive state.

▫️Framing capability - good use of arms and willing to jostle for upper body positioning under contact.

▫️Disguise on intentions - fake shot, quick feet to beat his man inside the box.

▫️Can be more forceful in ground duels, although he won a decent amount of them (7/13). He did try nick the ball away in some - and failed - rather than committing to the challenge.

▫️Drops in and helps with build-up from out wide - retains width and finds runners inside. Generally likes to receive side-on so he already has a picture of where to play.

▫️Showed too much of the ball in a 1v1 and was tackled, setting off a dangerous transition. Seemed to be a momentary lapse, as technical security was good thereafter.

▫️Will attempt runs beyond the last line of defence - good acceleration over initial yards.

▫️Wins fouls in dangerous areas.

▫️Drives diagonally at jockeying full backs when 1v1.

▫️Strong ability on corners from the right-hand side. - whip, flat trajectory, dangerous area.

▫️Takes low percentage shots. Ball striking is inconsistent. Although does well to generate a large volume of shots.

▫️Good at finding separation before receiving a pass - tends to create 5-10 yards of space when receiving the ball in the half space or flank. Shows good spatial awareness and perceptive qualities.

▫️Off-the-ball, diagonal runs across the back of the full back - enables threaded passes between opposing centre back and full back. These runs are dangerous for the oppostion, as it forces them to defend facing the goal. Increased foul potential.

▫️Needs to release the ball quicker in some moments.

▫️Can put disguise on passes.

▫️Shifts bodyweight well whilst dribbling. Good strength and balance whilst in-possession.

▫️Capable of stop-start movements whilst dribbling.

▫️Times runs well to beat the offside trap.

▫️For his first goal he showed good patience and awareness waiting for the overlap, and great body positioning to get across the defender to protect the ball in preparation of the shot. Composed finish.

▫️Uses opponent's momentum against them to escape pressure.

▫️Fairly tight turning radius.

▫️Favours curl and placement over power, when shooting.

Neste momento apesar de ser cada vez mais provável o Kamada não ser jogador do Milan, vejo-o mais perto do Napoli e Atlético que do Benfica. Mas a proposta continua feita.

A prioridade do Porto era o Musrati, mas os problemas financeiros estão a fazer os dragões mudarem-se para a 2° opção, que sempre foi o Varela, que repito, não teve nos planos do Benfica para este verão. Mas será usada a narrativa “Porto ganhou a corrida ao Benfica por Varela”
