This heartwarming video of a little girl walking through a paddy field with her tiny porcupine companion has captured millions of hearts around the world. ❤️🦔
As the video went viral, many social media users and even some media outlets falsely claimed it was filmed in Bangladesh.
However, the footage was actually filmed in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The earliest known upload appeared on June 11 on a Sri Lankan Facebook account, with the original caption written in Sinhala. Several other videos of the little girl and the porcupine were later shared from the same account.
A beautiful Sri Lankan story that has now touched millions worldwide. 🇱🇰

Sri Lanka have been handed a 20-0 defeat after their Asia Rugby Championship match against South Korea was cancelled because the national team failed to secure travel visas in time.
A national team has lost an international fixture without taking the field.
The fact that Nissanka is prioritizing the West Indies tour over the largely insignificant LPL is genuinely refreshing. It’s great to see a player of his caliber understands that LPL is rather useless.
As the @LPLT20 players draft approaches, I beg the Lankan franchises to pick this legend in one of the teams.
Chrishan Kalugamage, the Italian leg spinner, deserves to be recognized. 🇱🇰🇮🇹
Well done, Arjun. ❤️
Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match.
Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today.
Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have.
Love you always.👏
