If you have land anywhere in Nigeria — or your family does — do this:
→ Find out if a C of O exists. Check with the state Land Registry.
→ If no C of O — begin the perfection process with a property lawyer. Now.
→ If you are buying land — never pay without Governor’s Consent and registration in your name.
→ If family land has never been registered — it is vulnerable. Every day it remains unregistered, it is vulnerable.
The family that registers first usually wins.
Do not let that family be someone else.
Four years. ₦4.2 million in legal fees. One medical diagnosis. Eight months of two brothers not speaking.
That is what it costs to recover what should never have been taken.
But it was recoverable — because Mrs. Adeyemi knew where to look, and because there was enough paper trail to prove the fraud.
Some families are not that fortunate.
Some families lose. Permanently. Because the fraudster perfected the title before they did — and there was no fraud to prove. Just a gap in the paperwork.
Your land should not depend on luck.
At Legalnaija, we believe that access to legal knowledge is national infrastructure.
Not knowing the Land Use Act should not cost a family their inheritance.
Not knowing what “perfecting title” means should not undo 32 years of a teacher’s savings.
Find a property lawyer you trust.
Register what your family owns.
Understand the paper before you sign it.
The law protects what is documented.
Always.

@instablog9ja That is their method of getting free from accountability.
Embezzle 15.7B and bribe the judges with 200M to get freedom and be able to steal again or run for political positions in the future.
What a shame!
@aarondikko @OgbeniDipo Truthfully, Trump raised campaign funds despite his riches which were not gotten or stolen from govt coffers but his own sweat via his books and fleets of businesses. Can you say that about a Nigerian politician who loots our collective patrimony daily?
@OtunbaIdris @vdmempire Whoever is destined to be heard will be heard. If Joshua doesn't give birth to the person, another man will. Let's accept the reality and respect his own opinion. Shelah
Back in 2001, as I awaited my resumption for college in the U.S., a not so favourite relative visited our home in PH. He heard thru his wife that I was trying to leave OAU Ife to study Engineering in the US. He gave my dad a long lecture on what $17,000 per year can be invested in, rather than spending on one child who was already 2 years into a program at OAU, plagued by lengthy strikes.
We were a group of about 7 friends who all gained admission, and one by one, each person left for the airport to resume college. It was down to about two of us, myself and Desi Okpetu.
Desi was in the same predicament as his dad had bought the argument that travelling to the US was not such a great idea as he was barely 17 years old at the time
Desi's mum, who is now late, orchestrated his silent departure quietly and only informed his dad when he arrived in the U.S., talk about the willpower of a mother.
Furious and betrayed, his dad had no choice but to remit his tuition to Mankato State University. Desi is very successful today and relocated both parents to the US before they passed away about 5-6 years ago.
It was my birthday, August 2nd, and the resumption in Tennessee was August 8th. With a visa on my passport and my dad still dragging his feet, I decided to have a birthday party/send off. I invited all my favourite relatives and family friends who were top-tier advocates.
This increased the pressure on my old man to succumb, and I remember him calling me to his bedroom later that night.
He asked, "Where is the account information for tuition to be remitted?". I thought I was dreaming. What could have made this man turn the corner in the same day ?
It was a family friend and favourite uncle, Mr Asaolu and his late wife plus a few others, who gave my old man an earful on why this was a worthy investment.
Of course, my mum was the chief orchestrator who went to every length to make sure he caved in.
I look back at these events many years later, and I think about friends whose parents succumbed to bad advice at the expense of making the right investments in their children's lives. A few have been able to overcome what we considered the odds, but it was a longer and arduous path.
7 of us in the group graduated college in the U.S and all have successful careers. I am sure there are a few parents weighing these types of decisions at the moment, I would urge you to overlook the cost and make the investment in your kids' education.
Happy Monday!
I can now relate why we have the spate of insecurity bedeviling my beloved country home and its subregion. The picture is getting clearer with this info.
JUST IN: A Chinese firm has begun building a large lithium processing plant in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA of Kogi State.
Located along the Oyi River, the site holds lithium deposits projected to last over 50 years - making it a key player in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
@WilJay_1 I have said it before and will continue saying it, that the hope of getting Nigeria working and walking forward lies in the hands of every citizen to do what's right irrespective of the situation. Imagine the level of betrayal done to him by his supposed trusted mechanic.
Bible Economics
"The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan"—Joshua 5:12.
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. And it's because of the deep revelation I got while reading it.
While the Israelites were in the desert, they got free food. But the freebies stopped when they entered their promised land.
This means they needed aid to survive in their wilderness. But the moment they got to the promised land, they had to get a trade to survive.
The same principle applies to us daily. People can only help you for a while. Remember when your dad died and you got a lot of help—then it stopped? You remember how some of your friends came through for you when you first lost your job and they suddenly stopped?
You remember that one-time contribution for you in the church, some groups, or even from ex-classmates?
Aid can't be a forever thing. It has a short lifespan.
So, when you are struggling and you get help, you had better learn how to invest what you are getting because it's going to stop—especially when they feel you have gotten to your promised land. And sometimes, they stop because they expect you to have gotten to your promised land.
But if you don't know how to milk the cow in your promised land, it will kick you. If you don't know how to harvest the honey, bees will sting you.
That's why you need to learn a trade while struggling. So that when that aid stops—as it will one day—it's just a matter of time.
Then you can use your trade to thrive in your promised land and not fail. Many fail in their promised land because they didn't take the time to learn about business. Don't be one of them.
See, no one can prosper from charity. It will only make you survive. To thrive, you need to learn a skill and the business side of that skill.
See, that's all in today's edition of Bible Economics. If you enjoyed it, share it with others on your timeline. If you are seeing my post for the first time, follow me for daily insights into Real Estate, Personal Finance, and Entrepreneurship.

My people, we need to talk about this thing we call stockfish.
I know it’s inside almost every pot of soup, especially for special occasions.
But what if I told you that the stockfish you’re eating today… isn’t real food anymore?
Let me break it down:
Stockfish is imported.
To survive the long journey, it’s preserved with strong chemicals like:
— Formalin (yes, the same one used to preserve dead bodies)
— Lye (a corrosive chemical used to clean drains)
— And sometimes ammonia-based compounds
These things are not made for your stomach.
They’re made to stop the fish from rotting during shipping.
But guess what? Your liver, your womb, and your hormones pay the price.
📍These chemicals can mimic estrogen in the body.
📍They disrupt your hormones.
📍They inflame your gut.
📍And for women dealing with fibroids, they can make it worse.
So imagine…
You’re fighting fibroids with prayer and surgery,
But feeding it every Sunday with stockfish pepper soup.
And to make it worse?
Stockfish has no real nutrition.
It’s just flavor and obstacle. No healthy fats. No useful protein. No minerals left after all the processing.
So what are you really gaining?
Nothing, except pain.
It’s time to stop eating food that looks traditional but acts like poison.
Let go of stockfish.
Your womb, your hormones, and your future self will thank you.
Let’s eat smart. Let’s heal with food.
📩 If you’re ready to take control of your health and eat food that truly nourishes your body, I’ve got a meal plan designed to reset your gut, support your hormones, and heal from the inside out. Reach out today and let’s get started.
