With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie @ChimamandaReal, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.
As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.
I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.
Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.
My prayers are with the family.

President Tinubu Commissions 40,000 CBM LPG Vessel for West Africa Gas Limited
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has flagged off the MT Iyaloja (Lagos), a 40,000 CBM Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier built for West Africa Gas Limited (WAGL), reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to clean and sustainable energy solutions.
Represented by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, the President commended NNPC Ltd. and Sahara Group for their strategic vision in expanding Africa’s role in the global clean energy value chain.
The MT Iyaloja (Lagos) increases WAGL’s fleet capacity to 162,000 CBM, with plans for further expansion, including a Small Gas Carrier and a Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) within two years. WAGL, a joint venture between NNPC Ltd. and Sahara Group, has delivered over 6 million MT of LPG across West Africa in the last five years.
The vessel, named in honour of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, was symbolically commissioned by the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Alhaja Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, reflecting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure affordable and accessible energy for all Nigerians.
