Having a job/career where you talk and communicate nonstop with humans, people truly have to understand that sometimes you just wanna be quiet outside of working.
Fully agree with most of what was said in last nights C4 dispatches about ambulance/NHS struggles.. however the conversation about RCRP was barbaric. Police officers should deal with crime.. not MH.
NHS need to improve drastically and not rely on police services.
Despite my role I’m a very private person. I share this to show no matter how much experience we have or the positions we hold we all have our struggles, & occasionally we need others to lean on. Never be ashamed of asking for help 🚔#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek#ItsOkNotToBeOk 💙
Why, when members of public see this do they think they can go under/over the tape or just break it completely and then wonder why further down the road there’s an angry officer telling them to go away..🙄🤦🏽♀️ and then get angry because we ‘added 20 minutes to their journey’…
Now reporting restrictions have been lifted we are able to say Chris Kaba was a notorious violent armed criminal gang member.
We were not allowed to report this until today.
Kaba's mother applied to extend reporting restrictions beyond the end of the trial, but she has failed.
When I joined the Police I thought the only reason I would be off work would be because I was unwell or injured. 🤷🏼♂️
I never contemplated that being unwell would be because of my mental health. 👀
About now, three years ago, I’d had a year or continuous traumatic incidents and it broke me. I burnt out at the same time as being diagnosed with PTSD. 😅
The hardest bit? I finally said yes to help and counselling. I finally said yes to taking time off and looking after myself. This job will push you all the way if you let it. But you don’t have to. 🫡
We make time for the most vulnerable at work, so make time for yourself too please. Check in with your mates. Listen to them, really listen. And remember, however fun it might seem, you are just a number in a very big system at work, and if you leave, you’ll be replaced the next day. 🤦🏼♂️
But at home, away from work, you are you and importantly, there’ll be other days and other ways, but they’ll never be another you. 👏
Look after you, please. 🩵

So I visited the GP a few weeks back. They said it was mild ‘depression’ and stress. Been signed off and trying to keep myself busy.
When the GP asked what was causing this, I could not put my finger on the root cause. Anyone else feel like this? Should there be a reason?
Feeling burnt out at the moment and don’t know how to deal with it. I’ve got jobs piled high and no motivation to do anything about them. It’s so unlike me, I’m normally raring for arrests and am often the top arresting officer on the team. 1/2
Even people close to me are starting to notice. I’ve been ignoring people that I normally speak to everyday just not wanting to talk to anyone.
My rest days are spent alone in my house, not wanting to go out which is so unlike me. I don’t know what to do.
Don’t worry if your A level results aren’t what you were hoping for. I got a C and two Us, and here I am, 46 years later, with my own pub.
It opens next weekend if you fancy dropping in.
@CasualBob2 Made an account just to slate police? Hope you never need us then🙂
P.S. In covid, we followed legislation that was rolled out by the government. If we didn’t follow it, we would have also been criticised. What would you have done?
@Ckweston yep 100%. Almost all of the people making comments regarding what they watch and see on social media, would never actually try the job, and if they did they would soon realise what were up against. Something officers have to deal with🤷🏼♀️
