When techies talk about the cellular data capacity problem but don't consider that oodles of capacity are already there in existing Wi-Fi infrastructure
Simple for access networks: connect once, reach every buyer in the marketplace.
Simple for carriers, MVNOs, and eSIM providers: connect once, reach available capacity everywhere.
One marketplace. One integration. Access at scale.
Another data point for anyone who still thinks Wi-Fi offload is a someday technology:
The Wireless Broadband Alliance recently published an article on a live deployment from LongFi Solutions and Cambium Networks across venues in Houston's East Downtown during the World Cup.
A couple things stood out.
As match-day crowds put pressure on the surrounding cellular networks, venue Wi-Fi gave devices another way to stay connected. Across the broader deployment period, the network recorded more than 400,000 unique client connections across the district.
More interestingly, devices configured with multiple SIMs or enterprise connectivity profiles frequently preferred the secure Wi-Fi connection over cellular.
That matters because offload doesn't have to involve someone manually finding and joining a Wi-Fi network when cellular connectivity degrades. With the right infrastructure and credentials in place, the device can make that choice automatically.
The access side is increasingly solved. Passpoint and OpenRoaming can turn existing venue Wi-Fi into secure, automatic, roamable capacity.
The harder part is commercial: connecting that supply to the carriers, MVNOs, and eSIM providers that need it, then settling usage cleanly.
That's what the Uplink Marketplace does.
The industry keeps trying to solve mobile congestion the usual way: by building more infrastructure.
Meanwhile, carrier Wi-Fi that could absorb a real share of that demand is already sitting in venues everywhere, mostly idle. It just hasn't been reachable at scale until now.
Uplink changes that.
The number that matters for an ANP isn't only many buyers are out there. It's also how many integrations it takes to reach them.
Through Uplink, it's one. Carrier demand, MVNO demand, and eSIM demand are all reachable through the same integration.

Our August AMA will begin in an hour on the Uplink Discord server! Tune in to hear the latest news and the answers to your questions.
See you there!
A marketplace works only when both sides trust the layer that clears it.
Access networks bring supply. Carriers, MVNOs, and eSIM providers bring demand. Uplink has no stake in either side. It matches, meters, and clears.
