In case United still has its head in the sand.. and is clueless about the # of customers who have completely forever sworn them off for Delta.. this rendition has multiple examples why: my summer travel odyssey to Gotham started last Tuesday on a 9p redeye flight from LAX to EWR-
Just as we were arriving at the airport 2.5 hrs b4 our flt on Jul 28.. United canceled our flight and blamed it on weather.. the app wanted to book me on a flight 2 days later.. meanwhile- Delta had a 9p flight to JFK that wasn’t canceled and left on time..
to make matters worse the flight two days later was in a lower class of service.. the app then compounded the problem by urging g me to list standby on other flights then not letting me do so After waiting on hold for over 2 hrs.. I was able to get on a next day flight..
for the return.. the wife and I have been trying to get back to LA since Sun. afternoon.. our 4p flight was canceled after a multiple hour delay cuz United can’t figure out how to keep their Dreamliners in the air..
which then led to another round of conflicting.. incorrect and misleading information from United’s app.. after much griping and complaining- customer svc put me on a flt the app didn’t make available to me but did book my wife on.. UA described the flight as “reinstated”..
Anyone have a clue what that means? Now recall- we specifically purchased Polaris seating back to LA cuz that’s a loooong flight. UA described our seats on this “reinstated” flight as “Polaris Business Class”..
But the plane assigned to the flight was an Airbus A321neo. anyone ever seen Polaris- as in “lie flat” seating on that plane for United? Well here’s what we got:
After delays boarding this flight then we sat at the gates 40+ minutes and were told there would be no food service on the flight before sitting on the tarmac something like 2.5+ hours before being returned to the gate and deplaned..
then being told nothing for multiple hours until the flight was canceled after 1a.. followed by another round of inaccurate, inconsistent and misinformation information by the app- at one point it was simultaneously telling me the flight was canceled and boarding at 1:25a..
Eventually a customer svc agent put me on an 8a flight that was already delayed to 1140a when she put me on it.. that I’m only just now just about to board at 555p after nearly a dozen delays and a dozen and a half gate changes..
Once again the UA app is telling me I’m flying “Polaris Business Class” on an A321neo.. because customer svc and expert flyers I know insinuated I was lying.. or had forgotten how to read.. I took this screenshot:
Notice the depiction of the seat- that ain’t how UA’s app and website depict Polaris class lie flat seats when I’m trying to book a flight..
somebody help me understand how this ain’t “bait and switch”??
Wake up United.. this is a list of examples why yall lost my perennial Premier Platinum status wife’s business 8 yrs ago.. and why the vast majority of significant business travelers I know laugh.. roll their eyes.. and say “never again” when they hear I’ve booked a United flight
@McMattRadio@GreatDonovan@dfwticket We welcome you back with open arms! I really look forward to this *version* of Matt McClearin. Feel free to sneak in an ep or two of JaMSession in your spare time!
if i can recommend one album to yall it would be ‘How I Do’ by Res. it’s a great fusion of neo-soul and alt/pop rock from 2001, front to back just a beautiful listen
one of those albums that i fell in love with off the first listen, ive been obsessed ever since. Res having only 44k monthly listeners on spotify is a crime
@AmandaBlev Smokey John’s in Dallas if you’re in that area. Lockhart in old downtown Plano is a solid choice. The menu changes but the burnt ends are great if available.
